    Good purchase for someone looking to experiance the story as a Movie. Some scenes were excesive though and decended into the ridiculous (Barrel escape, for example)

    The Blu-ray looks great. Not too different from the HFR version they showed in theaters. The included special features are also great as with any Peter Jackson film.

    The second film of the three film trilogy. We get to see Smaug at last . The Blu-ray has a high quality picture and sound and comes enclosed in great packaging.

    The 3D is fantastic in this movie. I know its the second film of a three part series but I felt like it was not quite complete on its own. But a good movie overall.
