Wonderful second chapter in the Hobbit trilogy. Smaug was truly fascinating and terrifying at the same time.

Great picture, beautiful scenes, good sound, excellent effects, awesome 3D. Very satisfied with all the hobbit movies. Another fantastic collection along with the other Lord of the Ring trilogy.

one of my top 3 blu ray releases of 2014. 3d and 25 additional minutes make this a no brainer day one purchase. I will watch this many times over the next year, therefore the high price is justified

This is another great Hobbit movie and with sale price, you can't beat it for watching it in 3D/HD mode! Watched it twice already since got it during the holidays (using store pick up option)

The Desolation Of Smaug was a great 2nd entry in the Hobbit trilogy! Peter Jackson knows just how to make a movie .. even if he doesn't know how to make it closer to 2 hours long. haha

Peter Jackson has topped the first installment of his hobbit trilogy with "The Desolation of Smaug." A continuation of the first movie but with more action and better 3D effects.

Bought this edition not just for the extended edition of the movie but for the key prop. It is hefty, metal not plastic. In hindsight not quite enough "umph" to justify the price increase over the movie only edition. Some of the extended scenes did get wearisome but still enjoyable overall.

I am glad that I have read "The Hobbit" and the other Lord of the Rings before seeing the movies. The visual effects are fabulous and the story is as complex as the books.

the last 5 minutes of the 3-d version of the movie are missing, it just stops. tried the 2-d version, it stops at the same place. I know there is more as I saw the 2-d version in the theater but both of these copies are missing the last 5 minutes. Will not buy another movie from Best Buy again

I got the same edition without the key; I got it for 20 DLLs its was a good deal, but the erebor's key its awesome I tried to get this edition but was sold out!

I didn't have a chance to watch this in the theater, but I am deifinately glad I purchased it on bluray. Can't wait to watch the last installment of the series.

IF you like the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings genre then this movie you will also like. All the main characters are here and good conquers evil in the end.

Peter Jackson topped the unexpected journey by far. Smaug was every bit what i hoped for and i cant wait for the conclusion in the last film. Two thumbs way up.

This movie blew me away, the special effects, the characters were outstanding. This is one of those movies that you get upset with when it actually ends.

If you were saddened by the end of the LOTR series, take heart as PJ is taking us on another fantastic voyage! This is a great beginning to the series.

When I was seeking to purchase this item, I opted to buy it from Best Buy because of the best overall value of the product. I was very happy with the promptness of it being delivered too. Definitely a good movie to have in the BD collection!

If you can get past the discrepancies between the book and the movie it is an enjoyable movie to watch. Returning by way of prequel to Middle Earth the series has some beautiful scenery, great action scenes, and looming dangers that'll linger for years.

I really liked this movie, i think it is the best so far in the series. Can't wait till the third one comes out to see how they end the series!

Cumberbatch as Smaug is awesome, the barrel scene is awesome. Cliffhanger ending you know is coming, but it doesn't take away from the movie.

The extended version is just like it was when I saw it the first time in the theater. so many things missing otherwise.
