Bilbo and the dwarves find themselves on a journey to the misty mountains to reclaim their treasure. They run into all kinds of obstacles. How will they get through the trying times? It's a fun adventure that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Even though Desolation of Smaug was entertaining I feel Unexpected Journey was better. There was too much Smaug and not enough character development of the Elves who had a hand in rescueing Bilbo and his clan. Oh well Peter Jackson knew what he wanted. The Appendices discs were fun to watch. Lets hope The Five Armies #3 of the Hobbit series gets back to the feeling I had when watching Unexpected Journey.

    It's a movie and it's good in 3d

This 3d movie is cool because of the dragon scenes and it's good to watch in 3d with a Sharp TV because Sharp is still made in Japan the LCD screens anyway. The only part that matters for quality is the screen because if the screen fails the TV is done.

Definitely fun to watch and see all the behind the scenes and interactions between actors and directors. Movie is obviously a bonus as a couple of scenes I had hoped were in the theatrical release and were not had been filmed and used in the extended.

The LOTR series and now the Hobbit are not my usual type of movie. However, the work that has gone into these movies really has drawn me in. Maybe the Hobbit tale could have been done in two movies, but we get an extra part of the tale with the third one.

Again my husband loves this movie. Only issue we have had is one of the cases was broken inside. We live an hour away from the nearest Best Buy so can't really take it back since we are unsure when we will make it back there.

The 2nd movie of this saga "The Hobbit." Watch them in sequence or be lost. Peter Jackson continues to bring these books to life, and he doesn't disappoint. I bought the 3D version and it's outstanding. Don't fool yourself, this isn't just a kids movie.

Movie is phenominal, it was not predictable, only to the end you realize this is not the final installation, and there's more to come. Kept me on the edge of the seat for most of the movie, readying up to by a bigger screen 3d tv to watch it over again!

There are some delightful moments in this movie, but also some really questionable decisions. Splitting a short book into three movies was always going to involve padding, but at times (and it's usually the involved action sequences like the barrels on the river) it's just really hard to watch. Then there are moments like Bilbo's conversations with Smaug that are simply riveting. In the end it's loads of fun.

The Hobbit was the first Fantasy book I ever read so it holds a special place in my heart. It was among the great fantasy cartoons as a youth. The first film was not a let down but felt like it was just an opening act ... a sort of opening remarks. This one pulled you in and left you wanting more. Even with additions not in the original Hobbit telling, it did not let me down. Can't wait for the closing act.

We really enjoyed the Hobbit 3D Blu-ray. It was just like being in the movie theaters. It is better if you watch it with the lights off, in a dark rom. Excellent movie, incredible quality. You are sure to ave an enjoyable evening watching the Hobbit 3D.

The 2nd movie in the Hobbit trilogy shows the same, consistent effort by the production team as the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. No embarrassing inconsistencies. Follows the story fairly well (not as well as LoTR), but is burdened by the extra characters and scenes required to stretch the story out to three films. The cinematography and special effects are well done and consistent. The acting is well done.

The movie was a great follow-up to the first installment in the trilogy. Once again, Peter Jackson has given us a truly masterful visualization of this classic tale. The cinematography was breathtaking and the special effects only added to the telling of the story as opposed to overwhelming the experience or worse yet making up for poor acting or a weak plot, both of which are not a problem with this film.

We love everything Tolkien and Peter Jackson has done so well with turning it into film. I love that there is so much for other books and texts that have been added into the film to give a bigger perspective of Middle Earth and the concurrent events.

This is a really solid edition of the second movie in the Hobbit trilogy. Smaug is a special effects marvel, and worth grabbing simply to experience that magic alone. I believe, in terms of plot, this is the best of the three Hobbit movies. The extended cut adds some nice new footage - all good material, not just fluff either. For those with a 3D set up, this movie is worth adding to your library.

Having read the book several times the first movie dragged so much in the beginning I almost didn't make it to the rest of the movie. This one grabs from the beginning and does a wonderful job of showing the action and the special effects really rock!

Waiting for this movie to add to first Hobbit movie. Great entertainment for all generations. Like the DVD BlueRay and ultraviolet features in one purchase. Cannot think of anything else to mention. like the new Lincoln store location and environment.

The extended edition adds a little padding around some scenes and some surprises elsewhere, but nothing you will miss if you aren't a Tolkien fan to begin with and already have gotten past the impurities of the movie adaption. I thought this movie was fun, but it must be part of the longer journey. The barrel ride was impressive! The extra key makes a nice addition: it is solid and not flimsy.

The Extended Edition is much better than the theatrical release of Desolation of Smaug, and fixes a lot of the problems that sprung up from the changing of the story and plot line. Thorin's key is wonderful. This package is at a great price too.

After researching all the versions that came out of this movie, the best buy exclusive is definitely the best. It comes with the Noble Collection's Thorin's Key replica! As a huge LOTR this is by far the best bonus pack for the extended edition.
