I have loved the entire series and highly recommend it to anyone that is a fan of fantasy. Despite the splitting of the book into three movies, I have really enjoyed how Peter Jackson has added in additional content.

The look and feel of the movie y makes you to middle earth. Special effects add more depth to the production. The Dragon is very menacing. A real scary character. If you like sword and sorcery this is y he movie for you.

There is so much detail in the books that I understand why they have decided to tell the story in three movies, besides the desire to make money. Spoiler alert: I love the escape scenes and Bilbo's taunting of Smaug.

This was a good deal as it was only $2 more than the non 3D version. Peter Jackson makes beautiful movies that you can really appreciate on Blu Ray. The movie is a quality part 2 in the series. Looking forward to part 3.

Wasn't a fan of the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings in the beginning. I never liked the books as a teen, but enjoyed this one (and all the movies associated with The Hobbit). Can turn people who didn't read the books into fans for sure.

This is a great movie with a great plot and great acting. There are points in the movie where it's a little dull (like all LoTR movies and Hobbit movies) but that's okay because the other parts more than make up for it.

The Hobbit is a good prequel to a successful story set of The Lord of the Rings movies. The director, Peter Jackson and all the actors of this movie were fantastic. What a great movie to own and watch over & over again.

Even if you didn't care for the LOTR trilogy, the Hobbit trilogy has begun with two excellent films. Getting them on blu-Ray just blows you away, with how vivid the colors of the landscape are and the creatures' detail.

If you are like me and you loved the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings trilogy you are going to love the extended editions of the Hobbit! All of the additions, big or small, make for a fun and richer story!

Great story, i like the three movie series, the ending for this one was right in the middle of an imprtant scene, should have ended at a different point in the story

I am a big fan of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy so liking this trilogy of the Hobbit shouldnt be hard and it hasnt. Saw this movie in theaters and loved it. Love the Blue ray watching in HD no mater. Highly recommend it

You cannot go wrong with Oeter Jackson directing these movies. The enhanced story flows effortlessly into the original. He ties up loose ends and makes it so you want to watch all the Hobbit and LOTR movies in sequence.

Desolation was great, very moody and darker than the first one. Love how they integrated Legolas and Sauron into it, some of the escape scene in barrels was shot with an inexpensive camera but other than that, Perfect!!

I bought the 3D version because I bought the previous one in 3D. There were a few scenes that actually came off the screen. Overall quality was great. I would of like to be able to get the Downloadable movie on iTunes.

The additional footage and the bonus features of this are worth the higher price. If you are a fan of 3D at home, this Blu-ray offers excellent use of this technology in a very immersive but not gimmicky manner.

After seeing it in the theater I had high hopes for the home theater and I was not disappointed. It is an outstanding continuation of the trilogy. All who saw this in the theater will be overjoyed by this home version.

Fantastic movie for any fan of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Some additions that weren't in the book but it is a great adaptation. Haven't used the 3D disc but the Blu ray has an excellent picture on my plasma screen.

I can't wait to see the final part of the Hobbit Trilogy! This movie keeps you riveted and provides Hobbit buffs with everything they have been waiting for. I will be watching this movie many more times over next week!

The 2nd Hobbit movie is very different (and I think better) than the first one. It has much more action in it. However, I'd say most of the stuff in this movie was not in the book. It's still very good. I loved the Dragon Smaug. I didn't care for where they chose to end movie #2 (too much of a cliff hanger). Watch & enjoy! Movie #3 comes out later this year.

The story sucks you in and just at the best part the movie ends. I know it is a cliffhanger, but man...it is going to be a long wait for the next one to come out to see how it ends! We watch it over and over though...
