The second film in Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" trilogy is full of action and wonderful special effects. Those qualities have come to be expected from this director. What was not expected was the increased gore and fight scenes so drawn out that they seemed to be included just as filler to make the movie's run-time longer. It was an unnecessary distraction.

My wife and I saw this when it came out and could hardly wait for it's release on Blu-ray. We've watched it several times now that we own. Some parts are not in the book but it is a well made movie with a great story.

As a reader of the book, I was concerned about the adding of the extra character but on the whole, I thought it was a good follow-up to the first Hobbit movie. I am just not understanding the lack of ability to buy a set of DVDs that include the regular and BluRay edition of the movie for those of us who do not have a BluRay player now but plan to get one.

Disc played great. Excellent movie. Story is superb and goes right along with the first hobit movie and you can really see wherw it toes into lor trilogy. Excellent special effects. Wonderful landscapes and creatures.

The book I continually read over and over. I have seen attempts at the movie before and none are as good as the book ... until now. Excellent job staying to the story line and bringing me into the movie.

This movie was great installment for this trilogy. I loved the interactions between Bilbo & Smaug. I bought this version right when it came out, as it was only about $2 or $3 more than the non-3D bluray. What a deal!

This movie from the start is much more engaging than the first Hobbit movie. My wife not only stayed awake, but she enjoyed it! The graphics are awesome, especially on bluray! I highly recommend this movie to anyone.

I love the whole Lord of the Rings series, including the hobbit. For the big LOTR fan, the extended edition is the way to go. Has a lot of extra content with the appendices dvd's. Also has interesting commentary.

I know the movie is long enough but I enjoy seeing the scenes that they cut out and determining whether they added more value. Sometimes yes and sometimes no but enjoyed this movie so added it to my collection.

What you would expect from this release. Very high resolution. Great looking 3d. For a great movie! I really wish there were more options for some of these movies to change between widescreen and full screen format.

bilbo, gandalf, gimli, and the gang storm lonely mountain and mostly return safely with swag, songs and a secret magic ring addiction that carries him off to Mordor later on. Good times for all.

Another blockbuster trilogy, no big surprise the end leaves you wanting more and more. There are lots of extras and extended scenes. But, the icing on the cake is the unique collectible key. Way cool Memorabelia.

This movie had it all. The pacing and acting was stronger than the first entry in the Hobbit trilogy, and it's a movie I can see myself watching frequently. Smaug makes the movie. Video and Audio are perfect.

This is a great movie; much better than the first Hobbit movie ("An Unexpected Journey") It has very good 3D and has an excellent story with plenty of action and plot. I definitely recommend this movie to everyone!

This is an exciting movie. It is family friendly and can be watched several times and you may see something you did not see before. It is the second installment of the Hobbit series and I cant wait for the next one.

For fanatics of The Lord of the Rings such as myself, I find much joy in owning the collectible Thorin Key. There is much to be appreciated of the small details in the movies, so this edition, I find, is a must.

If you liked the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and the first installment of The Hobbit, you will definitely want to see this part 2. The action is not stop and the surround sound is fantastic. Overall, 5 stars from me.

An excellent portrayal of the book come to life. It's a seamless movie that captivates you from the opening scene to the last action sequence which leaves you hanging... waiting for the final movie in this trilogy.

From the forests, to the great mountain. The scenes in this movie are just spectacular. The characters are as always very interesting, and the feelings this movie give you will keep you waiting for the next sequel.
