An enjoyable movie version of the hobbit. Doesn't follow the book, but as long as you don't get too bent out of shape over the movie moving away from being a direct 1:1 book translation its good in its own right.

Overall, I was really happy with the blue-ray version of this movie. Its my favorite of the trilogy so I wanted to purchase a physical copy of this "Lord of the Rings" related classic.

I love all of The Lord of the ring movies and now the Hobbit. The hobbit 3d movies have been the best. Really love the scene with the dragon. The only bas pard about the part 2 of 3 is it really leaves you hanging.

Movie: the theatrical version plus additional footage, including more of Gandalf's adventure at Dol Guilder(sp?), and more of the shapeshifter Beorn. Blue ray quality is tops, and the prop key is pretty nifty,

If you watched the first Hobbit release, especially the 3D version, this will continue your joy in the series, and will make you appreciate this purchase. One of the best 3D experiences for your in home setup.

Mr. Jackson finally moves with this second film into the territory that he occupied so well with The Lord of the Rings! The film moves away from trying to be more of a comedy and more of the drama that it should.

The movie is a great second part, leaves me wanting more. The cast is top notch and do an excellent job. I'm told they follow the books very well also, need to read those. I highly recommend this movie to anyone.

Incredible fight scenes and visual details. The 3D really brings this movie to life. The movie is very long and separated on 2 disks for the 3D version, I didn't mind because it gives you and intermission.

This is an excellent purchase for any Hobbit or Lord of the Rings fans as it shows a lot of great extras that were not in the original or theater releases. Highly Recommended! Great Bonus Materials as well.

We cannot get enough of the Lord of The Rings and Hobbit series. They are great for families to watch together. Makes for a great movie night for families or just couples. Add some popcorn and it's a great time.

Just watched this in 3 D and it was a very well made movie. Really enjoyed all the action. The special effects were amazing. It left me anxious to see what will come next. Can't wait for the next one to come out.

Big fan of Tolkien books and now films. All three Hobbit movies were great and I would say I enjoyed the second in 3D better than the Journey. 5 Armies in 3d with definitely be purchased when it is released.

This film looks excellent on blu-ray and is a must-have for any fan of these movies. They may not be on the same tier as the LOTR trilogy, but that shouldn't keep us from appreciating them for what they are.

I bought it so taht I could take my girlfriend to see the 3rd hobbit movie. She was very excited to watch it and it didn't disappoint. I also convinced her to see the 3rd movie in theaters just a day later.

The Desolation of Smaug extended has been great. The picture is amazing, and of course the usual special features are fantastic. Hours of behind the scenes. Great for fans of middle-earth and Peter Jackson!

I bought this movie for my husband and children to watch. They are fascinated with all of The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films. Watching them together as a family has been a fun bonding activity for them!

The movie is non stop action and adventure. The continuity in the stroyline is carried on almost seamlessly making the story that much more exciting. I can't wait for the third and final movie to wrap it all up!

The director did a fantastic job of adapting the book. The scenery, the costumes, the actors, and the computer animation all made this story come to life. It almost made it seem like you were living it yourself.

I highly recommend this movie to any fan of the LOTR. This is the second installment of the Hobbit and is fantastic. I was not able to see it when it was in theaters, so I bought the Blu-Ray and have enjoyed it.
