Great movie. Starts off slow as they all seem to but I like that it helps weave together the relationships between the dwarfs, elves and mortals. It helps me to better understand Lord of the Rings!

Although the film is probably too violent and graphic for younger viewers, it is an exciting action packed movie with elaborate special effects. It is part 2 of a trilogy and ends in a bit of a cliffhanger.

Having the blue ray and DVD in one package is awesome if you have multiple trims you like to watch movie in and have different platform setups. Great movie and can't wait for the last installment of the hobbit!

I bought 15 movies bases on price. I have not viewed all of them nor have all been received. It is misleading to recommend or not, when we have not completed the product arrival. thank you

Gives you a chance to see what events led to the Lord of the Rings with more detail. Allows you another chance to experience the world of Middle Earth that Peter Jackson has helped bring to life for us viewers.

Although this movie and this trilogy is bloated beyond belief, it is still quality Peter Jackson. The Blu-Ray is beautiful and the added bonus features and extra scenes make this a must have for LOTR fans.

This extended edition, unlike the first Hobbit movie, does not disappoint. There are a ton of extras here to keep any fan occupied for over 12 hours. I do wish that there were more commentary tracks though.

I read the books years ago and really wanted to see this one on the big screen. After Lord of the Rings came out I was happy to hear that this book was being made into a movie. Peter Jackson has done it again.

    Second Film of Hobbit

I love The Lord of The Rings Films and The Hobbit ,but The Hobbit should have been only two Films and not three. The pace of two films would have been brisker and things would move along much better. The Gollum section in the first film was outstanding as was the Smaug section in the second film. Still a stretched Hobbit is better than no Hobbit.

This movie left me craving for more! I hate that it ended so suddenly! I must know what happens to the city on the lake! Will the dragon be defeated? Or will the city burn down as foretold in the legend?

Other than the forced 3D scenes, this is an excellent movie. I think there is a little too much added content and not enough Smaug. This will be a must see trilogy just as the Lord of the Rings is. Well done.

So far desolation of smaug is my favorite, atleast until the new one comes out. This one has more action than the first and just as much story. Haven't seen it in 3D yet but I can't wait to watch it on my ps3!

PJ does it again with his second film on JR Tolkien's "The Hobbit". Though a children's book PJ brings it to an adult audience without it being to juvenile. What a great back story to get you to the LOTR.

Couldn't wait to see the last movie as this one left you hanging. The detail computer work on Smaug was fabulous. You've all seen it on the big screen but now you can afford to eat the popcorn at home.

The visual effects are stunning and the sound effects of Smaug inside the mountain are mind blowing. Of course having a 65" 4K TV makes it more enjoyable even on this standard Blu-ray.

Benedict Cumberbatch's superb voice brings Smaug to life in a delicious twisted and delightfully wicked way. The second installation of the Hobbit series by PJackson is a thrill ride from start to finish.

As with the Lord of the Rings, this trilogy extended version is long, but it is well worth the time. Great story with excellent characters and scenery - terrific movie!

Let me start off by saying I enjoyed the first Hobbit movie. And I enjoyed the second one even more. The pace was faster. Less campy. And Smaug looked, sounded great. He really stole the show. I give it an A-
