Absolutely a great movie! Visually stunning and jammed packed full of excitment, twists and turns. Somewhat disappointed they the innovaters of this series chose to got along the same route as the Star Wars saga. Being out of sequence kinda let's the air out of your tires because you're now just learning as how everything ties together earth.

The graphics are amazing. I having been waiting for this to come out for a while and it was so worth the wait. I can't wait til my friends get to see it in 3-d. They will be as excited as I was to see it.

This is a great film adaptation of a classic book - I actually like the movie better since the book, unlike Lord of the Rings, is written in a somewhat childish manner. This movie looks great in Blu-ray.

Movie was good. Smaug was scary and had a realistic look. At times the characters didn't seem to fit background. Poor integration of live characters with CGI. Dislike it when I can tell certain things were for 3D viewing. Cliff hanger at end makes me want to watch next movie. Good tie in with future story lines. Happy there wasn't any Smeagle.

but that's what's to be expected in these movies. still great visual effects. not a fan of the ending but it is a 3-part story...also, ultraviolet copies suck. i wish all DVDs came with a digital copy...

I'm glad I waited for the extended edition of Desolation of Smaug. The extra scenes were great, not to mention the 9 hours of bonus features. The bundled key was much better quality than I was expecting.

I loved the movie! It revealed more about some of the characters from the original Lord of the Rings trilogy. Lot of action and new characters in it. A must see if you are into this type of Genre of movies.

I saw this movie in the theaters last Christmas and didn't see it in 3D but saw it in HD. The movie was good and found it didn't actually follow the Tolkien book all that much but it was full of excitement.

Really excited to own the second installment in the Hobbit movie series! Lenticular jacket nicely matches its predecessor's looks, and similarly includes a comprehensive array of disc choices, including 3D!

This is a fairly well made adaptation of the book. Cinematography is GREAT. It is a classic tale of how a little good from common, ordinary folk can have a great impact on the evil that exists in the world.

The 3d blu-ray DVD combo pack from BestBuy is great. Having the movie in various formats is great so we can watch it wherever we may be at the time. Its also awesome getting to watch the 3D version at home!

I really enjoyed the extended edition. It was cool to see how they added different parts from the book along with other material. Some may say three movies was too much for this series, but I disagree.

Worthy of the LOTR anthology. The cast, acting, directing, special effects, story line, and everything about this movie is EPIC. I expected nothing less, and was not disappointed.

I bought this and watched it right away with my wife. We got the extended version. The extended parts were great. One big part wasn't in the book. It help out on answering some questions you might have.

This review only applies to those who dare to enter the world of Tolkien! Peter Jackson has put together a magnificent rendition of The Hobbit, I can hardly wait for the Extended Edition to hit the shelfs.

The adventure continues in the Hobbit series. There is action, drama, romance and comedy in the story line. Great 3D graphics. If you enjoyed the 1st Hobbit movie, you'll enjoy this family-friendly movie.

Having read the book many years ago, the movie brought more of the content out. It was as if you were in they story and sharing the adventure. Own the first can't wait for the third. Reread the book again.

The Desolation of Smaug takes the first installment in The Hobbit series to a riveting, driving momentum. This Bluray DVD is perfect viewing during Spring Break, for the entire family and any Tolkien Fans.

Great movie! Even with the creative license changes to Tolkien's story, it's a fantastic movie! As has been all of Peter Jackson's Tolkien movies!!! Can hardly wait for the next one! Highly recommended!!!
