Much like the first Hobbit, this movie is a home theater showcase. The 3D is very well done, along with the visual and audio quality. If you're a fan of the series, you can't go wrong with this one.

I probably should've waited for the Extended version Blu-Ray of the Hobbit-Desolation of Smaug, but I just couldn't wait!! I saw it in 3D in the theaters and I loved it!, as I do all the LOTR films.

I got this movie for my husband. He loves The Lord of the rings and has been hooked on the hobbit series as well. I got the 3D version and it is really good. The movie itself is really good as well.

Once again, Peter Jackson has brought the world of Middle Earth alive again! This extended version of the film is amazing, it really pushes the story into a grander depth. Perfect fantasy film!

Loved this movie from the beginning to end. Full of action, intrigue and adventure. All the early characters were brought forth superbly and the end made you crave more. Can't wait till the next.

We are collectors of the great works and this is one of them. Although we have seen it on the big screen several times, we wanted to add it to our Blue Ray collection! Great price at Best Buy!

I would see it just because of Cumberbatch and Freeman. Outstanding acting and the visual effects are great as well. The movie is a little over the top with the rest but it was still fun to watch.

This picks up right where the first movie left off. It has a much faster pace and the action scenes are better. The plot is starting to come together well. Looking forward to the third installment.

Some of the never-before-seen footage actually was worth getting this version of the movie. It's a well done, but looonnngg film. Nice to kick back and spend an afternoon lost in Middle Earth.

This is the second of 3 movies made out of JRR Tolkien's 'The Hobbit', The main story line is there throughout the movies but, necessarily, much has been added. I have been a Tolkien fan for a long while now and, for the most part, I enjoyed these movies. Not as good as the 'Ring' movies but a good prequel to the story.

I thought the additions made to the movie were pretty much darn perfect and added quite a bit to the storyline. I loved that they added back in a remnant of the dwarves meeting Beorn storyline.

Benedict Cumberbatch does an excellent Smaug. There is footage of him actually in a motion capture body suit moving as Smaug and he delivers a great perfomance. Bravo!! The rest of the movie a story is pretty decent. A must have for Hobbit lovers!

I read the hobbit in school and when I heard Peter Jackson was going to make it into 3 movies I was wondering how? I think of the two so far this is the stronger entry as character development is greater and I think the story moves at a better pace. The video is excellent and I definitely recommend this if you are a Hobbit fan

If you love Lord of the Rings, you will love the Hobbit. It is a welcome return to Middle Earth. All fantasy fan will find something to love about this cinematic epic. I can't recommend it enough.

Fantastic movie with stunning 3D visual effects! Great story line with characters. A great movie for all ages and genres. I would totally recommend this movie to all lord of the ring fans as well.

The movie stayed as true to the book as it could. It was much more action packed and fast paced than The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey but they had to build the background up in the first film.

The second installment of the Hobbitt trilogy is much better than the first as it moves on with the story rather than provides three hours of back storyline the first. Would definitely recommend.

This extended version had some real good scenes that were not included in the theatrical version. Great buy and worth adding to your collection, even if you already have the original version.

i just can't wait see final part of movie and collect all 3. I have all three extended version of lord of ring. hurry up mr Jackson for final part, then I will have all 6. epic movies of all time

The better of the two hobbit films. Much better plot and pacing than the original. Great action/chase sequences while still mixing in great plot. MUST WATCH if you are a fan of lord of the rings.
