I loved these stories growing up and to see them on the big screen is just awesome. The effects are incredible. When the dragon attacks, my son just went nuts shouting woo hoo!

This is a great finish to an amazing story! The two Hobbit movies do the book great justice. If you loved the book, then do yourself a favor, and watch these wonderful movies.

The movie was a great continuation of the series. It had lots of action and a good plot. The movie was almost as good as the book and the book was great. Overall a great movie.

If you love the first Hobbit An Unexpected Journey then you must watch part 2 of this drama. It is a great movie and explores the story of Bilbo and the Dwarfs so much further.

The additional content is perfect and does add to the story. Special Content on the discs and the addition of the Key in this special set make this a must have for any fan!

There is so much to love about "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," and sometimes that particular fact overshadows what are a few minor problems with the film. It is a simple story, told in a very grand scale, about Dwarfs, accompanied by a Hobbit, who are on a quest to reclaim the Dwarfs homeland.

I read the hobbit as a kid. This is not quite the same story but its still good. There are a lot of action scenes and a bit of comedy. Smaug is well done. A few scenes were not quite seemless between the green screen and characters. This is not as well made as Lord of the Rings, but still enjoyable.

Peter Jackson has done it again, it is like living in the books them self's. The movie brings to life Bilbo's adventure in a way which makes you feel like part of the company.

Being a fan of The Hobbit for many years, it has been great to see all the stories brought to the screen by a very talented cast and director. The special effects are amazing!

Awesome movie close to the book description the 3D graphic bring out each character to life. I would definitely recommend to a friend with a HD television or 3D television.

Many people really did not like the newer Hobbit films because they did not feel like Lord of the Rings films. I took them for what they were and certainly enjoyed the experience even with my younger siblings (ages 10 being the youngest). I thought it was worth waiting for the extended edition

I purchased all the hobbit movies along with The Lord of The Rings series. Getting ready for a weekend binge session on our new 65" tv and surround sound.

I had a really hard time getting into the first movie frankly it was boring to me. This one was way better! There was much more action and the story moved along a lot quicker.

Can't wait for the third part to be released this next year. Saw this movie in the theater twice and just purchased the 3d version of the blu-ray the first day of its release.

Loved the movie at the show and even better the second time at home with the Blu-ray sound and picture. Great to have another copy to use up north in our RV during the summer.

Great movie with a lot more action than the first one. A must see in 3D if you can. Bought it when it was on sale and it was well worth the price. The barrel scene is awesome!

I saw this film years ago in 2D and loved it but now I have the 3D version and it feels like you are there experiencing all his travels.

The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug is an excellent movie for any fan of middle earth tales. Epic part of the prequel to the beloved LOTR trilogy. Can not wait for the next movie.

After reading the book watching the story come to life is thrilling. Yes there are a few differences but Peter Jackson does a great job with the main plot and the excitement.
