A few too many plot threads, but overall a good movie for a part 2. No doubt some hardcore Tolkiens will be offended about the liberties taken with the story. The 2 disc set itself is worth the price, the extras are entertaining, always enjoyable seeing shots of the New Zealand countryside..

An awesome film for anyone who likes the fantasy genre! It's not completely accurate to the novel, but things added or changed complement the story in a cinematic sense.

What can I say this film was just amazing! My only complaint is it took a few days to find a copy because Best Buy didn't keep up with the supply/demand for this title

Bought this version as a gift for my boyfriend! Since it was for Christmas bought this extended version so he could really get the most outta it! Was not disappointed

If you loved the first Hobbit, you will love this one, too! Great film, good plot and lots of action. I personally love the elves, so this movie was a hit for me. Enjoy!

Didn't go to the theater to see this movie because I knew it would be great. I simply went ahead and preorder the movie and watched it three times when I brought it home!

this will be a great movie to add to your collection. if you like the extended edition movies of LOTR or Hobbit movies. the Key is beautiful and comes in a nice case.

The Extended Edition is a total racket - pay more and wait longer to see what should have been in the film in the first place. Oh well, I still dig it. Nerds, Unite!

Director Jackson, with help from Guillermo Del Toro, made this second part of the Hobbit even more exciting than the first part. Can't wait for the ending to this story!

This is the sequel to the first Hobbit movie and is a great addition to your collection. The disc's played flawlessly and it is great it have all the formats to use.

This movie follows the previous movie well and continues with explaining the missing links when the time is right. Great sound and action; cannot wait for the next one!

picture and sound quality is second to none and if you're looking for a movie to show off your home entertainment system this will do it. The movie is a bit long and drawn out and not as exciting as Lord of the Rings but still for a fan definitely worth watching and far better than part 1

Love this movie as I do all Peter Jackson Middle-Earth films. My family enjoys putting this on even just for background sound. Look forward to many views in the future.

As a fan of the lord of the rimgs and now the hobbit. I really like the story. I hope the end of the story is as good as the book. Lets hopenthey keep making 3d movies.

Saw this in the theatre and loved it. The movie is one of my favorites and the 3D is amazing. Smaug looks better then ever and I just loved everything about this movie.

It may not be Lord of the Rings, but it's still pretty great to watch. The characters are enjoyable, there's plenty of laughs and suspense. All around, a great watch!

Totally not true to the book (no surprise with 3 movies being made from one relatively short book), but very entertaining with lots of action and great special effects.

I really like the preceding movies and this one was a great addition to the series. There is a lot of action from beginning to end and the story has a great flow to it.

I personally liked the Lord of the Rings series but The Hobbit series blows it away. First movie was great and this one is even better. Excited to see the third one

The second movie in the Hobbit series really stepped up the action sequences. However, the story was bland and was not as compelling as the first story. Visually this was an awesome movie, but the story could have explained more and flowed better. Specially when the Dragon was introduced.
