While the movie had excellent acting and very well done special effects. The fact that they are drawing out three 2+ hour movies out of one Book, is very disappointing It feels as thought the studio is much more interested in making movie than making an excellent, memorable film.

The movie is excellent. I only have issue with the storyline because it varies from the book, which of course always happens with movies. Otherwise it is amazing

Hobbit trilogy continues with Desolation of Smaug! Great epic adventure now with extended scenes and all that in 3D! Must have for the Lord of the Rings fans!

The return to Middle Earth comes with new adventures and new characters. The journey to the Lonely Mountain comes with trials that tests the determination of the dwarves and courage of Bilbo. The ending seemed abrupt to a lengthy movie, but I'll let you decide that for yourself.

Excellent movie all around. Special features are great but sparse on this version, probably due to the extended special edition, can't wait for that to come out!

I bought this for my wife and Granddaughter. They have all of these movies so far. They enjoy watching them together. This way we even have an extra for the car.

It's a book to movie. It made a great transition between the two. Peter Jackson encapsulated Tolkien's world and turned it into a cinema photography masterpiece.

Not bad. I loved the movie. As far as story goes, im not sure if the extended cut would add anything further. This has a ton of action and character development.

We have been waiting for the extended editions of the 3 Hobbit movies. Finding them at Best Buy at a great price was a plus.

As a fan of the trilogy, I think this was the best movie. I had the exact same edition on DVD and it was ten times better to watch on Blu-Ray.

I liked this movie but there where some slow moments but that should be expected in a 160-ish minute movie. Now unlike The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey, this one ended leaving no closure and you have to wait for the next one. But over all, it was entertaining and I enjoyed it.

Overall, this movie is really entertaining and takes some creative differences from the book. It did tend to drag in certain spots, but its still a great movie!

This movie picks up where the first one left off, and while it does stray from the events of the book slightly it is still a great story and a very good watch.

This is a great movie. Peter Jackson has done it again with this chapter of The Hobbit. The plot exceeds the first film and the effects in this movie are great.

I have loved this series from the day they decided to make LOR and now the Hobbit. I was hoping this would be a movie since I read the entire series in 2 weeks.

Love the 2nd installment of this series. It's amazing to see the action come to life on screen. Lots of extras in the discs & the digital copy is always a plus.

Another great Tolkien adaptation. Can't wait for the third one. So glad Peter Jackson directed this trilogy too. All six films will have the same feel and look.

As with the previous extended versions, the added footage was quite welcome. In this movie, the added material gave a new twist to the storyline. Well done.

I have read the book 5 times and found the movie so well done. Make sure you watch these movies in order, so you don't get confused. Peter Jackson is a genius!
