Nice to see this movie with a 4K TV. Especially via Blue Ray the picture quality is way better than via stream. I would recommend buying the 3D version.

Amazing movie. I got lost in it and was bummed when the movie finally ended. Looks like I'll have to by the next installment to the series. Haha.

An excellent prequel to the awarding winning Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Desolation of Smaug continues where The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey left off.

If you have never read the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings or have at least seen the other Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies you probably won't be into this movie.

Although some fans my complain about some of the added plot lines that did not exist in the book, the movie was well done and really sets up the final act.

We were waiting for this dvd to come out and bought it immediately. The dvd bonus features are definitely entertaining and give insight to the film making.

the movie didn't disappoint, it was a great movie from beginning to end. all 3 hobbit movies were awesome, i would definitely recommend this movie.

i loved the movie i own all the other movies in the series including the lord of the rings so it was a good buy to add to the movie collection

The second part of the The Hobbit series is so well developed and with the extra features just makes the journey that much more engaging

Have been a fan of the Lord of the Rings for many years. Even though these movies are very long it captures my interest through out the entire movie.

The story of the Hobbit is fantastic, filled with the right amount of action and drama expected from a Lord of the Rings prequel, but you can tell they had to stretch out some parts to turn a small novel into 3 movies. Still, the journey is well worth the time invested.

Very good movie. Special effects were out standing. Although the action scenes were great, I think some of them dragged out a bit too much. Movie could have been shorter without affecting the story. Story did stray from the book, but I guess that is to be expected.

Visually stunning and great special effects. Downside is Peter Jackson too a lot of liberties with the film, actually added more than needed so the movie dragged in certain parts. But I LOVED the dragon Smaug, he was the best effect ever! Watch this on a big screen TV!!

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is, on the whole, a vast improvement over The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. It’s a popcorn movie (in the best sense).

With all that has been said about The Hobbit being split up over three movies, you have to give credit to Peter Jackson for giving it the old college try. The disc itself though is of reference quality. The 3D is actually pretty good, and the audio can test your setup.

Although it did not follow the book exactly, the story was similar enough and additional characters were well written and folded into the plot seamlessly.

This is yet another solid movie from Peter Jackson in the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings Trilogies. Good action and Smaug is definitely portrayed very well.

This is the best of the Hobbit series. The cinematography is fabulous. Smaug is a very interesting charecter, whose interaction with the Hobbit is great.

This movie hit on all fronts, it has action, comedy and even drama. If your into or want to get into the super hero craze great movie to start with.

I can't wait for the next movie.Sound was great !CGI was beautiful! The only thing I do not like is having to wait for the next movie to finish the story!
