This movie is already fantastic but the extended edition is 25 minutes longer an the extra scenes are worth the time.

I love the whole series. I always hold out until the extended version comes out. I think they usually add more depth.

Got this in Blu-Ray for the high detail. Didn't disappoint. Also love that I get a version for 3D and for my tablet.

I thought this movie was much better then the Hobbit. They did a better job on the CGI, and the story was told better. It was a bit slow at times, but still entertaining, not to mention the 3D in this one is exceptional.

The 3D version of Desolation of Smaug is the must-have version, the cinematography is nothing short of breath-taking. The plot somewhat drags, setting up the sequel. Peter has once again remained true to the story details.

A lot of build up to get to the dragon and once we are there, it kind of goes by quickly and not too excitingly. And as is the tradition of these films, the movie itself went on a little longer than was needed.

Great quality pic while watching it on blu ray. Love this movie and best buy never have sold me any damage disc.

Attention must have as a sequal. Because it is part of the series, you just have to have it as part of your collection.

If you love to get the most out of the LotR and Hobbit movies, go with these editions. Plenty of material to watch.

Not to many movies should have a sequel but this one made it work it was awesome,definitely recommend it to a friend!!

Peter Jackson brings another epic to life and extends the prequel to the big screen. Great storyline, characters and graphics. Downfall of this movie is a story from one book stretched out into 3 just as LOTR trilogy did.

An excellent movie that is a lot of fun. The look of the film on an HDTV is amazing! Bought on sale for a great price.

This continues the tale of the Hobbit where part 1 stopped and makes one want to see the final part of the trilogy.
