CGI is fantastic and what you'd expect from Peter Jackson, Blu-Ray is worth the difference. Sadly as is common with middle entry of a trilogy, there is little advancement on story lines...all saved for the finale.

I have watched all moviesfrom the ring to the hobbit. Its a great movie and i look forward for The Hobbit: part 3

This movie is definitely better than the last - seems like the artists that made the movie really improved a lot.

If you are watching this series you can keep up but if you are a new comer you will be completely lost! Watching these after the ring/tower movies throws me off a bit but the effects are still amazing.

It's a great movie if you like fantasy! I loved it. Definitely full of fun adventure to keep you entratained.

Movie is good, but I have not liked this one nor the previous Hobbit movie as much as any of the Lord of the Rings movies. 3D is well done, as well. This version has blu ray, blu ray 3d, dvd, and UltraViolet.

My boyfriend requested this as a birthday gift. We saw the movie in theaters when it came out and he loved it.

If you liked "lord of the rings" you'll love the hobbit. This blue ray comes with movie prop that's also cool.

The extended version fills in the missing pieces that the original version cut out and has a much better flow.

If you are a fan of Tolkien then like always Peter Jackson delivers. Awesome film, score, acting, and effects.

I cannot wait to purchase this movie once it came out. The clarity is amazing. I am very happy with my purchase.

Entertaining film, even with the extra material that strays from the book. In fact, I it could be argued that the retelling is more believable than the source material. Smaug is Awesome!

Loved having the next piece of the journey on extended edition so I could be ready for the last installment.

So glad I didn't pay movie theater prices to see this movie. I watched it from the comfort of my sofa in 3D with my own popcorn and a cold beer that cost us almost nothing. One viewing at home pays for the movie.

Great Movie, don't rent it. Just buy it. The special featues are awesome, and the Benedict Cumberbatch is Smaug.

May favorite of the series. They did a better job on the hobbit series in my opinion than Lord of the rings.

Love this film. Glad to own it. So much happens you do not realize how fats time flew. Great depiction of Smaug!

missed this one in theatres, but after watching it, i will make sure to catch the next one in a couple months.

The Hobbit is actually a short story, but the movie version is full of exciting action and great cinematography.
