I liked the concept and the artwork but the DVDs slide out too easily. The 4K transfer is good but too much DNR was applied. I liked the look of the regular Blu Ray a little more because it looked more natural.

It arrived fast but one minor flaw. The packaging is so horrendous that it came in dented but now can’t get another one cause it’s sold out. So disappointed.

I waited over a year to purchase this product due to it being out of stock. It looks like someone dropped this box repeatedly and then shipped it to me.

The steelbox came dented. Please handle these with care more in the future when packaging. Disappointed. Great quality though.

I’m not really sure what’s going on with Best Buy’s shipping department but lately every Steelbook I order online is coming all dented up due to the lack of packing material to protect them. I am having to order things twice and sometimes 3 times before I can even get one that looks decent. What’s going on Best Buy? We used to get steelbooks in a cardboard wrapper to protect them but now they come in a loose plastic bag or a box without any packing material. This movie set comes in a tin box and of course they put it in a bigger box along with 2 other movies to bounce around without any protection. The result, everything is dented up as expected! I recently got another Steelbook all smashed up and it looked like someone ran over it with their car! I spend a lot of money on these things and will keep returning them until you get it right!

Movies are excellent quality, only problem was the case was damaged, expect better especially for the price

This set came with dents on the outer box. Best for in store pick up if you wish to have a good set!

Let's face it... You likely only bought this to go with the steelbook edition of Lord of The Rings. I don't really anyone who "enjoyed" The Hobbit trilogy. So now you've got these mediocre movies, but they now housed in a medicore looking steelbox. Granted, the individual steelbooks are ok. In the end, this felt like a cash grab.

This review is not about the movie itself. I would give the movie and 4K Steelbook productions highly Recommended must have !! However, as for BEST BUY way of handling my purchase of this 4K Steelbook… I would give Best Buy a ZERO STAR OUT OF 5 if I could. They shown zero efforts in making sure you will get your items in new and undamaged condition when they boxed it up and ship it. My 4K Steelbook of the Hobbits sets just shipped in a bubble bag instead of inside a box with bubbles or other type of protection…my item got damaged with dents and bumps on the outer metal case. They don’t even give you the options of in store pick up for these steelbooks. It’s a high risk to buy movies in steelbook from Best Buy and they don’t care enough to do better job on protecting your purchases.

Mine has big dents in the steel book case. It looks like it was used as a soccer ball and kicked down the street. The boxed set was put in a large cardboard box, with only a couple air pouches inside. So it bounced all the way from the warehouse to my house. BestBuy should do better, because these sets are sold at a premium price to collectors that want them in mint condition. BestBuy needs to either wrap them securely in bubble wrap or in a Styrofoam shell. Not just throw them in a big box and let them bounce around in the box like a basketball.

Don’t get me wrong these movies are AMAZING!! Some of the best ever!! But this as with many Steelbooks are not treated like new collectable items but used children toys that can be thrown around without protection like it’s nothing, like it doesn’t matter if the actual Steelbooks arrive in good and NEW condition….. Purchased 2, one personal and other for BFF but literally BOTH came damaged……. They even shipped both in a plastic bag with ZERO PROTECTION!!!!!!……. SOLD OUT SO IM STUCK WITH A BEAT UP USED ONE BUT FOR COMPLETELY NEW PRICING!

Have not watched yet. Read great reviews. Disappointed in my experience. Paid top dollar for steelbook, but came crushed and scratched. Cant find replacements.

I love everything about the set but I am very disappointed on how damaged the package was when I picked it up. I noticed a small dent on the top edge of the box but I did not think too much of it. Upon closer examination, I removed the plastic and the J-card and I noticed that there were two big dents on the side of the box as well as a few scuffs on the top. This was very disappointing especially because of how much it cost.
