i bought this collectors edition on the day of release and i half to say its wasn't exactly somthing that woo-ed me with the contents. the movie is great and this is a must see for all members of family and friends. i was told upon arrival at best buy 10hrs after release the collectors editions are unavailabe for purchase, haha to them i found it anyway.

I drove an hour and a half to get to the nearest Best Buy so I could pick it up in store on the release date. They had my order ready and I was out in no time at all. The Box itself is very detailed and looks great. When you open it up the blu ray dics and dvd discs sit comfortably on top of the part holding the limited mockingjay model. I was very pleased because mine had a very low number out of all the ones they made. I loved everything about this and I felt 30 dollars was extremely reasonable and I hope they do the same release for Catching Fire and both parts of Mockingjay.

The box is probably the best part; it's really pretty and looks great in any Hunger Games fan's collection. It was what made me buy this item. The acrylic is alright. I haven't checked out the extras, because I bought another copy of the movie from another company with exclusive extras, but if there aren't any exclusive extras then it might be better to buy the regular Blu-ray from somewhere else if you don't care about the box. I just hope when the other two movies come out, Best Buy has this as well, because I will probably buy it then too. I just hope it comes with more extras next time.

I was a big fan of the book series and of course was ecstatic when it was turned into a movie. I watched it several times in theaters and was hooked. It was an excellent film and did the book justice. Of course I bought the blu ray as soon as it came out. I was surprised there was no blu ray/dvd combo pack but I settled for the two disc blu ray. Unfortunately, the special features were not much to look at on the second disc but the movie itself looked like it did in theaters and looked very nice on my TV. The digital copy was a plus also.

Love the movie itself, that was why I needed to get it in BluRay AND DVD and this offered the best price for doing so. I'm a bit bummed, however, over that free gift that's included. I haven't even taken it out of the box because I have nothing to do with it. It's boring and I'm upset that there was no extra footage as incentive for buying this set like other stores offered. The box also makes it difficult for me to fit my movies in with the rest of my collection.

The Hunger Games trilogy was quite good, though in my opinion the first book was the strongest of the three. The film adaptation is also very good, though in a few spots it felt a bit forced. It's hard for me to judge for sure, but I have a feeling that if you didn't read the books first, you'd have a harder time following the story, which seems to assume you know more than the film tells you. The effects were perfect; I think CG is rarely pulled off as well as it was in Hunger Games, and I think the casting was outstanding. Much of the acting was great as well - it was quite a treat seeing Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland, who were both perfect fits for their roles.

I believe the part of them being in the train and all that fabulous food and when they were in the city and saw all those people and costumes and the drama behind them getting to the final was so overboard that it became part of the actual feeling of the movie. To make the animals real but they are computer-generated and disappear after killing someone was really an unusal piece in the story. Was it real or unreal? You want to know what happens after they reutrn to their town.

The movie was GREAT. The box that the movie came in was a little disappointing. LOTS of empty space if you take out the plasitc shipping stuff. The discs themselves are in a small cd sized box and the "special gift" is not really that big. They could have made the whole box it a little more proportianate

The plot was a little weak, and it took way to long to get to the objective of the movie. Plus, its totally science fiction.......balls of fire being shot across the screen on a moments notice, healing powers from a standard leaf, weak love story, etc. We just didn't see what the hype was all about. The book was better, and this is one of those movies where the movie had to be so much better than the book to make an impact, but it wasn't. Better luck next time. If you want to watch it, RENT IT, DO NOT BUY IT! Not worth your money, but worth wasting $1 at redbox & 90 minutes of a weak evening. LOL

I saw this in the theater and bought the blu-ray as soon as it came out. I like Jennifer Lawrence on-screen so I'm a little biased, but I like the movie and it held my attention beginning to end. Lots of reviews already out there on the movie, so this review is based on the blu-ray quality. The blu-ray quality is excellent, with stunning video and pristine, dynamic audio. It really comes to life on a good home theater system!

If you're looking for extras with this blu-ray, just look for the regular version. I own both the first released blu-ray and the steelbook. I missed out on the Target exclusive last year, so it was nice to see Best Buy releasing one. I am happy with the steelbook that I had purchased. Not too bummed about the missing features.

i love the books, and of course we all know books into movies lack alot of things. but there really was alot of vital stuff in here missing. reminded me of twilight. half of what i love about it is the love story..and yet its hardly shown. its rather sad! its half of the WHOLE story! twilight did the same. im interested to see if they fix this for catching fire. otherwise, the movie is great for a movie..but dont be surprised to be dissappointed from the book. book is 100% better! but graphics with blu-ray are great. always buy blu-ray now! :D

The movie was very good. I read the book first and was aware of details the movie did not explain. should have shown life in the districts and how bad it was per the book. I would have used a very slinder girl to portray Catniss to show life in the district was so severe. People were dying on the streets from hunger. This aside, the movie played out well the rest of the way. I would recommend this to anyone.

The overall box was large for what came with it. The DVDs (entire set) were inside a small booklet inside the box as was the additional limited addition item. The box is awesome, but just too big. The movie itself is great. I wish the directors had decided to keep more of the characters. It would have allowed for a better understand of the three finger salute as well as the mocking jay itself.

Overall I love the movie. The Book the Movie was really well done. I think it could have been more graphic but for the demographic I can understand why it wasn't. They did leave out a few Very important details that are pretty crucial to the next part that should have been introduced in the first movie. Also the way she received the Pin was not correctly portrayed and I felt that was fairly important as well. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN GET THE DVD, BLU-RAY, and DIGITAL COPY together! Plus it comes in an awesome box.

Overall I love this. I'm a fan of the books and the movie it's self is pretty close to the book ath fans will enjoy. The Collectors box and collectors acrylic w/ the buning mockingjay pin are something for any fan to enjoy. My only real concern with this is that the dvds and blu-ray disc come in a book like slide in holder that is difficult to get the discs out off and makes you worry about scrating them. (I know the collectors edition of Avatar was done the same way.) I would have rather them be in thin cases.

Little needs to be said about the Hunger Games movies. Jennifer Lawrence couldn't be more perfect as Katniss Everdeen. I, personally have never read the books that these movies are based on (and I hear that certain details are left out) but you definitely can see the movies without reading the book- while understanding them fully of course. Can't miss movie.

My family loves the movie and the idea of the gift set. The only negative is the blue ray sometimes freezes for some reason. We've tried it on several players with the same effect. I would send it back, but the other parts of the set make up for the occasional freezing. I would recommend the movie itself to a friend, but maybe not the box set if this is something that is a flaw in the set.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I've read the books, and at first I was skeptical about the film production, but I'm impressed. Highly recommend this to a friend. As for the box set, I love that as well. I've become a very big fan of the Hunger Games franchise and thought it would be a nice keepsake for my collection. The entire set is amazing.

This is a great movie. The plot is intense. It's a great action film. My wife likes it because of the main character and the role she plays to counteract the government's ideals. foul language used is minimal and what one might expect to hear on a local television station.
