I purchased the Hunger Games, and the Hunger Games: Catching Fire Steel Case box set for less tha $17. Each of these Blue Ray movies comes with an accompanying Bonus Features disc and the limited edition of Blue Ray cases that are actually made out of steel. This would have been a steal for one disc, but to get both movies, and bonus features, means four discs for approximately $5 each.

Having never read the book I would say that "Catching Fire" was a good story on its own. While it would be beneficial to see the first "Hunger Games" movie, "CF" can practically stand on its own. The loss of Phillip Seymore Hoffman is a sad bloe to the final two films of the series, but I would still recommend "CF" to anyone looking for a movie w/ good visuals & interesting characters.

Saw the movie twice in theaters, loved it both times. Works nicely on blu ray too. As much as Best Buy or any other retailer would like to think "steelbook" is a collector's item, it's really just fancier packaging. I bought this version because it offered movie money for Divergent. If you have no interest in that movie, I suggest getting Catching Fire in the normal blu ray/dvd combo.

Great movie and love the ease of the digital copy plus I got it price matched to Walmart for 19.96 best buy was selling it for 22.96 now just FYI I tried price matching it online via the phone it was a bust because it didn't have price match guarteed marked online. I went to the store n they did the price match only reason I didn't buy at Walmart had bob gift card lol enjoy the movie!

Another great movie in the Hunger Games trilogy. Jennifer Lawrence is fabulous in her role as Katniss Everdeen. She is powerful and growing to be a leader. The support staff is also wonderful. President Snow is the much needed villain; a role played by a great actor Donald Sutherland. Need to get the whole trilogy (actually 4 movies, as the third is in two parts).

I would recommend this movie. Since it is the second in a trilogy, I would advise to read the Hunger Games book trilogy and see the first movie of the series entitled The Hunger Games. This will assist in understanding a deeper plot that must be shortened to fit a 2 and 1/2 hour film. In addition the film ends with a cliffhanger which means you will be hooked to see the third movie.

Part two of three finds tension between Catniss and the evil Panem President Snow boiling up to a major new threat and challenge. Wait till you see how she deals with this one... The stage is definately set in the end for a major payback soon to come in the next movie... The effects have gotten even better than the previous movie and we see more of the character's back stories too.

NOTE: I got both movies as a set and this review is for the set. Love that I was able to get both movies at a pretty fair price. Movies were packaged separately, each in its own steelbook. The steelbook packaging was a little flimsy for my taste. These steelbooks are basically just sturdy cases for the disc. I much prefer the actual case like those I got with some earlier Disney movies which held the entire outer package. I generally buy the combo packs, but wanted the steelbook. So, no extra DVD. That would have been nice but is probably why I got the set for the price I did.

My husband and I (late 20s, early 30s) both enjoyed this movie. I liked it much better than the first movie. I read all the books and I think the director did a great job sticking to the storyline. I decided to purchase Best Buy's steel book version when it came out because it was the same price as the regular bluray copy. I think the steel book is cool and worth the extra price.

I actually think this was better than the first. At first I wasn't interested in the Hunger Games hype but a black Friday deal on the original movie prompted me to buy it. It was a really good movie - a little slow to start as they built the storyline. This movie didn't require the premise to be developed so it could get right to the action! Can't wait for the third to come out.

As much as I like the first Hunger Games, Catching Fire takes it a step further and delivers in every way possible. Of you are a fan of the books, you will not be disappointed. . I look forward to the two part Mockingjay finale that begins in November 2014 and concludes a year later in November 2015. And with Katniss Everdeen by your side, the odds will always be in your favor.

You probably have to see the first one to understand everything that's going on, but it's a great story. One of the few books-turned-movie that I actually like as much as the book. They add a bit of backstory in the movie that you don't get to see in the books since it's first person perspective. A definite buy for parents of teenagers since it has action and drama. But it also does open the door to discuss how tyrannical people and governments can develop, the things people will do in the name of "peace", and how people react when faced with imminent revolt.

Catching Fire is the second installment in the Hunger Games series. The move differs very little from the novel and has excellent visual interpretation. Just like the book, the ending leaves you wanting to know what happens next. This is a great movie whether you have read the books or not. story line, great visual effects and a movie you definitely want in your movie library.

Jennifer Lawrence did a perfect job as Katniss and she played the role better than anyone else could have. The disc itself was great and the graphics were outstanding. The disc never skipped and was in presitine condition. I will continue to purchess my dvd and blu ray discs at Best Buy. The cost was resonablly priced and was lower than some places we looked for the same dvd.

We bought the second hunger game movie because we liked the first one so much. The movie was awesome, we love the storyline, but the ending could've been a little better. It kinda leaves you confused at the end not knowing what's really going on or what the next movie will be about. Other than the ending, it's a great movie. We will most definitely be buying the next movie.

Excellent depiction of the book although definitely not for children! More appropriate for a 13+ IMHO. Don't want to spoil anything if you haven't seen it but its another blockbuster performance from Jennifer Lawrence and cast. Picture is so much more cleaner in 4k and the sounds are impressive. Worth the upgrade from Blu-ray.

What can I say, I am a sucker for the Steelbooks and I couldn't resist the opportunity to get such a great movie along with the steelbook packaging. My only disappointment was that it only contained the one bluray disc and did not come in the Bluray/DVD combo pack. I did however contain the UV copy and a free ticket to see Divergent. All in all it was well worth the money.

This is not a review of the movie, not really - those are a dime a dozen. The film sets up the next installment well, but wasn't entirely necessary on it's own, kind of like Potter 7. It's mostly just filler or padding, but fun nonetheless. The Blu-ray looked and sounded great in our dedicated HT. The extras weren't anything to get excited about. This review is really about the packaging, the inconsistency of Best Buy's exclusives and the abysmally lacking information provided on their site. It's a nice case, far more appealing than cheap plastic. One great thing about steelbooks is the lack of clutter on the artwork - no reviews and cast names plastered everywhere, no guady format banners running across the top, clashing with the art design. They are cases truely befitting the collector market. I was very disappointed to discover upon receipt of the item that Best Buy skimped on the disc count that standard release was getting and failed to mention such in the preorder details so that customers can make an informed buying decision, especially when their status quo with such exclusive packaging is to include everything from the regular release with it. Sadly, if you don't preorder these things, the limited quantities Best Buy sometimes orders, results in shortages, making it almost impossible to get the day of release, as was the case with Thor. As much as I like the case, I'm not sure it was worth paying more for, when you're losing a disc. Best Buy claims to be focusing their media sells online now. Yet, based on the amount of information they provide on many of their products, the lack of pictures, poor stock and not accepting orders when something is just temporarily OOS, they've got a lot of room to improve, if they hope to compete with dedicated etailers.

Movie is great when compared to the book, and on its own, is better than the first one. Very good special effects and costumes are fantastic. Keeps you entertained from start to finish and leaves you wanting more. Steelbook case is nice, but it's not all steel. The inside is actually plastic like the rest of the DVD boxes with the added reinforcement of the steel on top.

Love the movie, I've watched it many times since purchasing it. I'm not as thrilled with the digital copy. I do not like that the digital copy is through UltraViolet, therefore needing an internet connection on my iPod Touch to watch it or having to download it from the cloud. I prefer digital versions that go through iTunes and are directly downloaded onto my computer and I can choose where and when I want to place it on my device, without the internet. Other than that, I recommend the movie for it's quality, content, and entertainment value.
