Boring. Dull. Peeta sucks. Don't think they even mention the Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 continues Katnis Everdeen’s (Jennifer Lawrence)journey towards saving both herself and those who surround her. President Snow (Donald Sutherland) is up to his cold and calculating ways (although as I mentioned in the previous review I understand why him and Lawrence must play the protagonist and antagonist roles). One must have a strong stomach due to a scene shown where Everdeen’s character sees what happens to her home district. Many of the famous celebrities from the previous films return with Lawrence and Sutherland (such as Liam Hemsworth, Josh Huthcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, there is also Julianne Moore and more famous people featured etc.). There is also a scene where viewers are introduced to Jennifer Lawrence’s musical talent (through her song The Hanging Tree). The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 is best for those who have viewed the previous Hunger Games films and/or are open to watching science fiction war type films.

    Next step in the series

This movie represents the first half of the third book in the "Hunger Games" series, and as a result ends leaving the audience hanging. This was obvious going in, but the grab for extra cash and an extra movie didn't result in a "stretching out" of the material as occurred with the Hobbit. If you enjoyed the action and story of the first two movies, this one goes right along with the series in a comfortable and well orchestrated way. While not containing the excitement of the first movie, or the surprises and intrigue of the second, it moves the story along, providing a good filler to get to the fourth and final movie. Again, there is more than enough material to carry itself and the only objectionable part is that it had to end with the expected unfinished ending.

    The Best One

Because I've read the books, I knew the last movie would be split into two different movies, which it should because of everything that happens in the last book, Mocking Jay. Katniss struggles with her identity at the beginning but quickly realizes that people will follow her and she has a way of captivating the districts to stand with her to ultimately fight president snow. Personally, she's battling emotions between Peeta and Gale, her love and her best friend. If you read the books, you become very attached to the characters and the story which this installment so wonderfully captures. Can't wait for the last part to come out!

    Love splitting the last book!

The last book of The Hunger Games (Mockingjay) was a bit slow at times, but the movie makers took this book, split it in two and made the first movie much more action packed than it was from only Katniss' point of view. Things happened in the book that Katniss didn't see, but the movie was able to capture them and make them into really cool action sequences. I am normally against splitting a book into multiple movies (The Hobbit, cough, cough), but this is the first time I've actually really appreciated it. Smart move, moviemakers!

The best Hunger Games film so far

I have read all the books and watched all of the movies that have come out thus far. This is the best Hunger Games movie so far. There were a few changes from the book, but in the most part it stayed true to the book. A lot of the characters that were not able to show any character growth and development in the previous films had growth here. The story is a bit more intense than the other two films because this is where the actual way starts and Katniss isn't sure who she can actually trust.

Not better then the other two but worth watching

First off, this is part of a series. If you haven't seen the previous films (or read the books) you will be hopelessly lost. There is no flashback to bring you up to date. This film picks up where the last one leaves off. Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) is recruited to be the face of the rebellion. She is reluctant until it becomes personal. Happy content people don't pick fights. The film consists of a propaganda war between Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and the government and Katniss and the rebels/terrorists/anarchists/freedom fighters. It finishes on an up note...sort of. The film delves into the problems of a rebellion and the need for a war of words to convince hearts and minds. In many ways I like this film more than the previous ones, especially the second one which was just a filler film to get us to the rebellion. I think of the second film as "Star Wars Episode 2" but less annoying. My apologies to the president of the Jar Jar Binks fan club. In this film, I now see why Jennifer Lawrence was needed for the series as she transforms from reality TV star to a person who runs a gauntlet of emotions: fear, despair, terror, panic, hopelessness, and pretending she can't act. Clearly she nailed it as only she can. The film had a number of memorable lines: "My sister gets to keep her cat." was great. It demonstrates that the rebellion is about her personal life and that it takes priority over any cause...for better or worse. "Best dressed rebel in history." Shows some mindless priorities. "Prepare to pay the ultimate price." And with sadly Philip Seymour Hoffman says, "Anyone can be replaced." Katniss takes a bow to a gun fight. It makes for good fiction, but seriously? If you have seen the other two, you are going to watch this one too.

A Perfect Start to the End

I know there are some reviews saying the movie was slow, but I'd bet these people didn't read the books. I think it's really smart that they split the final book into two movies because there is so much detail in the final book and it really needs to all be included. Yes, Mockingjay pt. 1 is the slowest movie installment, but that's because it's building up to an action-packed pt. 2. The first installment was true to the book and I cannot wait to see the end!

    Best so far

Mockingjay part 1 was the best of the Hunger Games series so far. The only part of the movie that disappointed me was the fact that Gale's best line in the entire series went to Effie, who wasn't even in the last book. The best part of the movie was that the audience got to see events that took place in other districts first hand, which you don't get to see in the book because the book is told by Katniss.

HUNGER GAMES : MOCKINGJAY PART 1 IS EPIC!

The Final Part I to the Epic Conclusion of a great franchise, the HUNGER GAMES is mind blowing. It start out slow but the action part picks up as it progressed. It was good but Part 2 is even better since it has more action scenes than Part I and led to the EPIC conclusion to the whole movie! Recommended getting it if you want to watch part II and complete your collection!!

Awesome movie, it had everything you look for, drama, romance, adventure...Jennifer Lawrence was excellent as Katniss, a woman who saves her District. Thumbs up. I almost dread the last one being released, what will I go see in theaters?

Love the books and the movies are close enough. Bought all Hunger Games movies even after seeing them in the theater. Bought this movie on the day it came out and immediately downloaded the digital copy. When I got the Blu-Ray disc, was able to download a second copy for iTunes too!

If not, you might find this quite boring. My guess is they're saving all the action for the end. Don't get me wrong, I've read the books, saw all the movies, I love it but this was just an okay film but regardless gets 5 stars knowing that 2 will be an amazing ending.

    Cliffhanger

To no one's surprise, Mockingjay Part 1 ends with a cliffhanger. Granted, this will no longer be an issue once Mockingjay Part 2 is released, but it still leaves you wanting more. As with many films based on books, this movie has its share of differences from the source material, but is still quite enjoyable.

I wish it could go on, but if hunger games had to end, i think they did it justice. I had missed it in the theater, so i've been really wanting to get it and complete my collection( and watch it). I was pleased with the way they wrapped things up.

Very exciting movie. Can't wait for the finale/part 2. Loved the book and this is as close as you can get for a movie adaptation. Love Katniss with her new look as the Mockingjay. One more reason to keep thiis movie: Phillip Seymour-Hoffman (R.I.P.).
