A better sequel than the last in the series!

As sequels go this latest in the line of movies dealing with the Hunger Games series is better than the last episode. The last episode seemed like a repeat of the first movie sans the underlying love interest between the two protaganists. In the latest version this interest is rekindled, along with the now looming revolution of the rest of the slave sectors due to Katniss appeal to these sectors as one of their own who has opposed the current ruling groups authority.

Great release, not the best of the series.

I've been satisfied with the BLU/DVD combo releases, they keep the whole family happy, especially when they come with the UV codes, as well. The extras are limited, but worth the watch. There's a P.S. Hoffman tribute that's pretty well done, and it was a pleasure to watch him deliver the best performance in this film. So far, I've enjoyed this series (I did not read the books), but this film is the weakest so far. However, I'm properly amped for the final chapter!

Overall, this series is fantastic! I'm really glad BB kept going with the exclusive steelbooks to match the previous two movies that they released on steelbooks. This film itself wasn't the greatest, but still pretty dang good. I can't wait for MJ Pt. 2 to come out and hopefully BB will have the steelbook for that too! Great series overall, a shame it'll be coming to an end with MJ Pt. 2.

Read all the books of course before seeing the movie. The movies have been exceptionally close to the book, making it very enjoyable to basically watch what I read. The whole family loves the series and this movie, Wife and 2 kids 12 and 9. Can't wait until the last movie as I am really looking forward to seeing if they end the movie like the book, which is surprisingly deep and moving.

Hunger Games Mockingjay part 1 came out for purchase, and I knew where to go to purchase my copy. Best Buy has always carried movies the exact day they could be purchased. Unlike Walmart where they did not have copies and gave the reason that the snow stopped their truck from delivering. Best Buy has always had what I needed and thier customer service has always been wonderful also.

What can I say? It's the Hunger Games! Mocking Jay takes up after the last of the hunger games. Katniss is brought back to reality as a way of putting it. As they (the Districts) plan to wage war against the Capitol and President Snow. Good movie. Just writing about it makes me want to go watch it now!

As someone that read and enjoyed all three books, I was skeptical about the decision to break Mockingjay into two movies. I thought the first movie might be quite boring. But it's not. It's exciting and very well done. The casting and character development is very good and the movie seamlessly fits in with the story and the movie franchise. I can't wait for the last movie!

Our daughter loves the Hunger Games movies, and we bought all the Blu Rays for her birthday. They're great. I don't know of anyone who hasn't seen these movies, but if you haven't? Watch them! They are intense, probably too intense for very little kids, the acting is fine, some of the characters are very memorable, and the movies leave you hanging the way they should :).

Generally I think the Hunger Games videos have done a good job of translating the books to the screen. The books aren't terribly sophisticated from a story point of view, being targeted at a teen audience, but they're still entertaining enough. Mokingjay does a good job of continuing the plot and character development of the story. The pacing is pretty good, and the visuals and effects are good without being overwhelming. All in all it's worth a watch.

A lot of people that I know complained that this chapter got stuck on one point for a long time. We have to keep in mind though that this is a two part movie, and in my experience the first of any two part film is always the "slowest" so to speak as it lays the foundation for the conclusion. My only complaint about the movie is the low light levels. I'm sure its all part of the effect, but I would have been happier if they filmed it a little brighter.

Mockingjay Part 1 continues the story of Katniss Everdeen and the battle of the Districts for self determination and freedom. The look of the film is a little different as most of the action takes place in the underground bunker in District 13. Will Peeta, Joanna, and Annie be rescued from the Capitol? Will the rebels take the Capitol? You've got to watch if you want to know.

I typically go out of my way to collect Steelebooks. I'm a collector. So it's frustrating to get one that's has a scuffed image. The damage was under the cardboard cover so I never could have know without opening it, but it's still lame. The movie itself is dry. There was no need to make the final book two parts. The flow isn't there. It simply ends. There's s beginning, a long pointless middle and no end. Here's to hoping Part 2 makes up for that.

Interstellar was, in fact, quite spectacular. Probably the most Kubrikian film in a while and just as thought provoking and "unanswered." The paramount message is the impending demise of our once rich and varied planet with its teeming creatures, all important, as is the preservation of local and global ecosystems. Wonderful acting, with surprises and humor more than pathos.

The movie itself was a little slow to get going but was enjoyable after about 30 minutes. The CGI was very sharp and clear. We enjoyed the overall detail of the movie. I felt the surround sound and bass was a bit weak compared to other movies but was still above average. If you liked the other Hunger Games movies I would expect you should enjoy this one as well. I think it has been the best so far. Expect an abrupt ending due to this being Part 1.

The story line turned darker as the capital attacked the rebels, a lot more emotions on display, still over all I would not like to see a short version of the third book, so the viewer will have to be a bit patient knowing part 2 is coming a year from now. They did seem to conclude part 1 at the right point, and it is differently worth watching. The PQ and AQ was excellent.

Rarely do I say a movie tops a book, the first two movies in the series were great but the books were better...Mockingjay was definitely better as a movie b/c it makes you keep like Katniss. The only thing that makes me sad for the movie is the passing of Philip Seymour Hoffman, even with some rewriting of the script to move his character's dialogue, you can't surpass him.

This was a really good and suspense filled movie. They did really well combining it with the last two movies. We would definitely go to the next movie, they stayed pretty true to what happened in the book, some things seemed to be a little drawn out but we did like it very well. The graffics were just amazing along with the music during some of the scenes it was awesome.

I'm a big fan of the movies , ( I unfortunately never read the series). so there isn't much I don't like. Compared with the first 2 movies though, it's not my favorite. It may be the way it ended or perhaps it was the current players in the game, and the state in which the whole world is. I can't wait to see the new movie this weekend. First time in theaters!

Anyone who has read the books knows this is the worse of the three, but it is the best of the three films so far, this director who also directed catching fire has done an amazing job, he has captured the vision of the book and better, the final installment promises to be just as good, and better. What better way to own this amazing movie then to get the steel case.

Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed the Hunger Games series so far and am looking forward to the final film. However, "Mockingjay, Part 1" is definitely the weakest of the three films to this point. There are a few interesting and fun things here and there, but overall, this film sort of feels as if it is much ado about nothing. Sadly, my favorite parts of the movie revolve around Prim's cat. So to all cat lovers, this is a great film.
