We had previously seen Sleeping Besuty and this movie is a prequel to that one. It told about the Hintsman and how he came to be and the relationship between him and the evil queen and her sister. There was a lot of action and it was quite entertaining.

This movie, which is a prequel/sequel, is hammy entertainment. The extended version adds a little bit more moments to add a few coherency to the story so it is recommended. They also added an end credits scene. It could mean a 3rd is possibly on its way.

As a fantasy adventure full of evil queens, magical ice princesses, dwarves, and heroic acts it's a lot of fun. Plus there's something to be said about the fact that it doesn't take itself seriously, and certainly the star-studded cast doesn't either.

Liked the continuation of the Snow White story, and the emphasis on the two Sisters. Charlize is over the top with her screaming rendition of the evil queen but I love these fantasy movies anyway.

This Evil Queen is the real deal. I compared this to another queen once upon a time and well, The Huntsman's evil queen makes others look like talking pumpkin heads. This is not your typical and basic aging storyBook queen! This is a ferocious do anything next level entertainment wicked witch of them all. Buy it.

I really like this movie. We saw it twice in the theater, including IMAX. The rendition with 4k HDR matches, or even surpasses what we saw in the theater (surpass in that I was a whole lot more comfortable at home in my own chair than sitting in those awful theater seats!). Anyway, buy this movie!

You got the beautiful Charlize Teron return as the Queen and trying to take back her throne and her the second part of the movie is that the beautiful Emily Blunt is in the movie as well. At the end of day this second sequel is really good

the movie itself was okay, nothing special. only bought it because it was 4k ultra and was on the cheaper end. it definitely is beautiful to watch, actually the older kids will probably like it, but no so much for me..

This is a good follow up to Snow White and the Huntsman. Though there are some continuity issues, this is still an enjoyable movie. It continues the huntsman's story and you learn more about his past. Fun and action packed.

If you are a fan of the original Huntsman movie this will be a treat as it tells an enjoyable back story. There are a couple of inconsistencies that were established in the first one but on the whole it works well and is a fun movie.

This movie is honestly better than the first one. I was surprised as I didn't know much about this one going in to it. I liked it so much I bought it. Opted for the steelbook cause it looked cool and was relatively the same price.

An Unnecessary, but Visually Enchanting Sequel

The biggest fight this unnecessary sequel was always going to battle was the one for purpose. In 2012's Snow White and the Huntsman there was much to admire in terms of visually stunning design and creativity for the functionality of much of those designs, but both the story and the characters felt thin, cobbled together from different mythologies, and thrown together in hopes of becoming a new take on an old tale. With The Huntsman: Winter's War the film once again faces something of an identity crisis-wanting to be a number of things, but never focusing on one single aspect enough to actually be about something. As the first film was an attempt to capitalize not only on the idea of turning well-known fairy tales into live-action adventures, but on swinging the Hollywood pendulum towards more female-centric action vehicles the focus is still very much on the ladies. This is all well and good until you realize that once again this Huntsman film is simply pulling from other stories to try and cobble together a legend of its own to no avail-giving extremely talented actresses nothing to work with. While not a direct sequel or even a full prequel, Winter's War is a spin-off of sorts that encapsulates all of the previous film and intends to add a broader scope and depth to the proceedings. In doing this we are offered a take on recent female Disney characters such as Elsa's Ice Queen from Frozen in the form of Queen Freya (Emily Blunt) and Merida from Pixar's Brave in the form of Sara (Jessica Chastain). Done in the hope that telling a darker, more action packed story would appeal not only to the kids who enjoyed those movies, but to the adults who've likely seen them on repeat and might find it interesting to see variations on such characters in live action form it's a fine enough strategy. At the very least this strategy provides some kind of template for the film to build strong female characters upon, but as a final product the film does nothing interesting with the majority of its characters in a story so scattered and with one too many lulls that even the beauty of both the visuals and actors isn't enough to distract from the weariness of it all.

I liked the original Snow White remake, but I think in many ways the sequel is even better. It won't make a lot of sense without seeing the first movie but the story is actually well thought out and introspective.

The Huntsman Winter's War is a decent sequel, and a fun watch. It did have a slightly lighter tone to it than its predecessor. But while watching it though, you feel as if it is missing that "something" that the first one had.

This part two one is very good because it showing the sister that we never knew and it shows how she has some heart unlike her sister and we get to see the difference in the madness of when she's mad and when she's heartbroken

The Tale is accompanied by a bold but subtle sound-track and absolutely believable sound-effects that were enhanced by the use of dtsX. This may be a fairy-tail but it’s an action packed adventure that busts out with a romance which is very well told – and it’s an immersive viewing experience.

I do have to say that this is a pretty good "prequel/sequel" to the original movie a few years ago. It basically gives you a backstory to the two sisters and Eric/his love for the woman he thought was dead. I recommend it.

I was a little disappointed that the effort wasn't as high as it was with the first steelbook, though this one is still overall a nice one. I have yet to watch the movie, so the rating is soley based off the steelbook design.

The Huntsman Winter's War is a great tale of cruelty and kindness. Emily Blunt is astoundingly cruel in her role of a pair of sister's... Charlize Theron is fabulously wicked as the other! Special Effects ~ Mirror Mirror On the Wall, Who Creates the Best Effects of All! Pretty spectacular!
