    This true story follows the same trajectory as Dances With Wolves. It's not nearly as good as Shogun - but it is well acted, the story is interesting, and it's lovely to look at.

    Tom Cruise acted very well in this movie. The Japanese culture and country side are beautiful. The children actors are also very good and cute. The Japanese actress shows quiet but powerful performance.
