I got this movie for my parents to watch. I have not seen it at all. That is the only reason why I gave it a 2 star, so I can't give it more stars. It is not my kinda of movie. But I have seen the cartoon one and love it.

The movie wasn't very good. I put off paying a high price for it (Blu) and finally Best Buy had it cheap enough to pick up. I can't really pinpoint where the film goes bad but it wasn't entertaining. Alexander Skarsgård was good enough in the role but there was nothing that kept me interested. Even for a summer pop corn movie it was lacking. I like Sam Jackson (I just watched KONG SKULL ISLAND) but between the two of them they could not save the movie. Christoph Waltz's bad guy shtick was exactly the same as other bad guy roles he's famous for. See him in BIG EYES if you want to see him be a bad guy with a whole different style.

I expect a Tarzan flick to b exciting. He to b a jungle raised person with a deep understanding of wildlife. This flick sd b reyitled a city slicker pretending to b Tarzan. Nothing more than a modern soap opera in the jungle. Boo

Story line and acting OK, Effects, eh. Kind of darkish scenes didn't benefit from HDR noticeably. I don;t think the film was mastered in 4 or 8k, looked more like 2k. Rent streaming, buying 4k not worth it.

I can't fathom why it seems to be hard to adapt Tarzan for film. Most of the movies tend to lack severely. While this may not re-invent the wheel, it's certainly a valiant effort. Enjoyable film.
