    Kids loved it

Struggling here to not be cliche with the review. But let's keep it simple here. My family loved this movie. Saw it in theaters and had to get once it came out on DVD. Kids are at just the right age for this and they love Legos. But it's great for the whole family. The action isn't too intense and the plot isn't hard for the kids to follow. The jokes work at all ages and the theme is really fun. Spend the $15-20, buy some popcorn and a few cokes, sit back with the family and enjoy.

I've been waiting to pick this up and add it to my collection ever since seeing it in the theater. $17.99 for a new release Blu-Ray combo pack is quite a bargain, and I suggest you pick one up. As with most non-Pixar or Dreamworks CG animated movies, there is a lack of Blu-Ray bonus features like a short supplemental film or gag reel or finished deleted scenes, which bummed me out. But I'm ready to watch the movie again soon! Also, that "Everything is Awesome" song is so darn catchy!

This world wind adventure story is paced like a rocket. Rapid fire action, jokes, and editing can make you feel like one of the mindless inhabidents of Lego land. If you avoid a seizure, it is creative and entertaining for all ages. Lord Business has segregated the Lego worlds and rules this oppressive society. Freedom to create has been outlawed. Instructions are law and everything is "awsome". An uprising of Master Builders threatens Lord Business' planned perfection, so he sets the date to unleash a weapon that will perminatly end creativity. THE KRAGL. The Master Builders must inlist the help of 'The Special', a chosen one who holds the key to disabling The KRAGL. And they only have till Taco Tuesday...

This movie was great kids and I enjoyed it very much. By the end of the day I had every kid in my apartment building in my house. They didn't even move all you heard was laughing and cheering. I even sat back down with them. Couldn't enjoy myself because I keep hearing dad more popcorn more soda more pizza.Hey do yourself a favor get this movie. It's also good if you guys want a movie that you can get a break to get some things done around the house. Put it in and get to it.

We saw it opening day in the theater and preordered the disc, which arrived on release day much to our delight. Kids have watched it at least 15 times already, us adults at least twice. Lego did a great job making something worthwhile and utterly re-watchable, so big kudos to them. Even friends that aren't all that into the Lego toys have really enjoyed the movie - it stands on its own as a wonderful kids movie, but Lego fans will get the most out of it. Highly recommended.

OK,...most will think "The Lego Movie" is a kid flick! Actually it's for anyone & everyone who's "young at heart." We had heard the humor was outstanding and would probably require a 2nd, or 3rd, viewing to catch it all. They weren't wrong! We bought the 3D version, and found it wonderfully entertaining in all aspects: animation and dialogue. It will be viewed often by the munchkins when they come visit, and we will be sitting and enjoying it again, and again with them!!

My kids flipped over this movie when we saw it in theaters so it was a no brainer that we'd be buying the Blu-ray. What I love about it most is that it's not just for kids. There are many jokes for the adults that may go right over your little one's head. Lots of nods to other movie/comic franchises that will keep you smiling throughout the movie. Also, Mark Mothersbaugh's music score is top notch. I'd highly recommend picking up the soundtrack CD as well.

    Pop culture at its best

If you haven't seen it, it's not necessarily a kids movie so much as a "big kids" movie. I'd say best enjoyed over 12 years old to understand the jokes, but most definitely appreciated to the over 25+ crowd (review dated in 2014... so DOB prior to 1990ish) for references to the pop culture of our times. So much good stuff, it's impossible to catch it in one viewing, and definitely not to be missed if you have 3-D/HD/awesome capabilities. Because. Awesome.

If you don't know about the Lego Movie by now... Where have you been? There's not much to say that hasn't been said, so I'll just quickly go through the points. Is it funny? Yes. Heartwarming? Sure. Good story, fun characters? Yep, ditto. Even the cast is great, and the voice acting is probably some of the best to come out of an animated film in some time. Plus, it comes with a digital copy. So that's another point in its favor.

Me an my six year old son saw this movie when it first came out and we both loved it! It has everything a good family movie needs. Legos, action, suspense, comedy, and Batman! When it was released on DVD I had to get the "Everything is Awesome" version because my son and I wanted to see the extras. It was well worth the extra money. Plus he got a Vitruvius minifig as well. Nice touch. We have already watched it five times in the last three days. :)

    A childhood brought to life

Nothing beats bringing a childhood to life and that is exactly what The Lego Movie did. As you follow a unsuspecting hero on a great quest through the lego universe, I couldn't help but think of the times I would play out scenes with my own legos as a child many years ago. The movie brings to light a good message (no spoilers here) about how an obsessive hobby can be a child and parent together by letting the parent relive what they found fascinating about that hobby in the first place. This is a very good movie for that night in with the entire family. All things considered, 4 out of 5 and I would highly recommend it to everyone because "EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!"

I bought this movie for my 3 year old son after having already seen it in the theatre. I cannot even express how much our whole family loves this movie!! The special effects are fantastic and there are jokes throughout to appeal to parents. Best Buy offers the best price on this movie that I was able to find at the time. I was able to order it online and received my shipment the same day the movie was released on DVD. Everything is awesome!!!!!

I was thrilled by the idea of the Lego Movie, and it didn't let up. The movie carries a great message for the family, as well as explores the ideas of letting your imagination sore. This combo pack has the 3D, Blu-ray, DVD, and UltraViolet copies. I prefer to allow my kids to watch on the DVD, and keep the higher quality discs to myself, mostly to prevent scratches. This combo sent ensures a legacy in your personal collection for years to come.

My 5 year old son saw with a friend and made my wife and I take him and our 9 year old daughter again the next day. Everyone loved this movie!!! He and I have been waiting for this to come out on Blu-Ray ever since. Beautifully animated, everything looks like it is really made of Legos. Outstanding voice acting. Combines humor for kids and adults alike, ensuring kids of all ages are entertained. "Everything is Awesome!!!" about this film!!

This movie captures what I love about LEGOs, the building blocks to create your own world and characters. It has a great cast of voice actors and then, of course, there's Will Ferrell. The different LEGO worlds, Kragel, and rubbing alcohol ideas were nicely done. The master builder concept was great especially since it's being told from a child's perspective. Waiting to see the LEGO Batman movie.

This movie is so AWESOME! I saw this movie in the theaters with my young brother and his friend and it was absolutely astonishing. They animated every single piece as if this who movie was built out of Legos. It is done in a way that looks stop motion. This is a real piece of art. The movie is great for kids too with nothing that would deter parents. The plot is really cool and the characters are fun to watch. A great family movie!

This was a really fun movie for the whole family to watch. I wasn't sure what to expect from it, despite the hype, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Batman especially was great, and the 'everything is awesome' song was a lot of fun. They took a concept which could have turned out into an overly kiddy poorly written marketing mandated movie and instead made a movie that really had fun with the concept.

What a clever show and a good integration of all of the characters from the Lego universe. Sure some characters were left out, but there are just too many to pick from for the story. Loved Batman. The first time that I watched it, the constant building of lego items was distracting and I missed some of the details. After additional viewing, that becomes less of an issue. Want a fun show to watch with family? This is a good one.

Well my rating is subjective because if my kids were to rate it they would say 5 star probably but I am stretching giving it a 4. I thought it lacked a lot and was glad my wfie and I didn't spend the money to see this in the theatres. But the reason we bought the movie was to provide entertainment for the family reunion road trip coming up. My son has already watched it four times and of course they are about to drive me to drink singing that "Awesome" soundtrack song that the producers of this movie provided a singalong music video for. So as an adult I would have given this 3 stars but for kid value it is 5 so the end result is a 4.
