I was a little iffy about going to watch this movie in theaters, but the kids were set on seeing it, so when we went and watched it, i caught myself laughing out loud and really enjoying this movie. They put great personalities to the lego characters, which just helps pull the movie together, and shows kids that being different is better than following the norm. But with that said, i would recommend adults with kids to go and enjoy this movie together, the jokes might be silly, but perfect for kids, but sometimes silly is what we all adults need, to just checkout from reality and put your kid shoes on for just a little more than an hour to remember how simple life once was :) The digital download is perfect to take on the go with your flixster app, Enjoy!

So I took my boys to see this at the theater and we loved it then. Bringing it home on DVD was just par the course. Plenty of action, a smattering of slapstick humor, and the fact that Lego people are just darn cute, culminate in a fun family time. Will Arnett as the voice of Batman is just awesome, which combats the heartache I feel every time I think Batfleck. The bonus features are fun, watching how creative minds are able to bring little plastic bricks to life and be so endearing is wonderful . My boys and I loved the music video "Everything is Awesome," and listened to it about 20 zillion times. What I really admire about this movie (beyond the fun geeky in jokes), is the message that everyone is special if they believe they are. I firmly believe that society has gone too far in trying to 'equalize' everyone. It is a sad fact, but statistically, there will always be someone better than you. So what? It's OK if you aren't the fastest, or the brightest or most popular. As long as you value yourself and feel special, you are. We don't need to suppress competition, we need to support and nurture self-respect and why not sing a catchy tune while we're at it?

The Lego Movie is hilariously funny and appeals to kids and adults alike. The UHD in question is a step up from the Blu-ray, picture quality and sound are excellent. Are they better than an upscaled BD? Yeah. Is the disc worth the price if you already have the BD? I'd be inclined to say no. The source material both were struck from is essentially the same. Admittedly, there's additional color correction and HDR just beyond the upscaling, but with an animated movie and a BD as good as Lego Movie, I'd be hard-pressed to give an unqualified recommendation. If you haven't bought it yet in any other format, it's a no-brainer: this is the one to get. A must have item for every home movie collection.

I end up saying that to far too many people! It looks like the obligatory kids comedy title of the Summer when you see the cover box or movie poster but it is one of the better movies I've seen in this genre or any comedy in quite awhile. The guys behind 21 Jump Street movies wrote and helmed this so expect humor ALL over the age spectrum but have no hesitation to let your kids watch it. If you remember watching the original Shrek for the first time and that feeling of something different, new and a wink to the adults in the audience.... that's what you get here. Don't hesitate to pick this one up. You might even find a tear jerked out or two towards the end. I can't wait for the spinoff Batman movie they've announced!

I was not thinking of ever seeing this movie because it seemed too childish and I never experienced the Lego toys. When a month has past since it's theater release, I decided to redeem my free movie ticket since it was going to expire soon; I used it to watch the Lego movie. I must say, this isn't just a kids' movie. The plot, content and humor was interesting and intriguing. Afterwards, I knew I had to own this movie because I wanted to experience the "behind the scenes" special features because an movie all about Lego toys seemed like a long and challenging project to accomplish. Overall, I am satisfied with this purchase and I intend to make the most of it by watching it with others. This movie is a must have.

Having watched this movie at least once a week since it came to digital early release (not to mention this long-awaited blu-ray release), I may not have the most objectivity when it comes to writing about it. But, what the heck? The Lego Movie is fun, funny, zippy and whip-smart, with so many jokes working on enough levels to satisfy virtually any conceivable audience member. It's got an enormous amount of heart at its core, too - the movie's conclusion is one of the best things I've seen in years. Also, the commentary from the directors & much of the voice cast is not to be missed, partially because they spend a huge chunk of time pointing out little sight gags you might have missed otherwise.

It would be a different review if it was from my perspective but this is about my son. My daughter (17) actually saw it with her boy friend and enjoyed it and my wife saw it with my son at the theatre also. The kids were insistent on buying it (parents buying it). I have was reluctant in this red box / streaming age but they assure us that it would be watched (more than once). Both the Blu-ray and DVD have been used and the Blu-ray has already had about 10 views in just a short amount of time. At the end of the day I have gotten my money's worth. Personally a Transformer's movie has more appeal to my taste but my son really loves this movie and there are far worse things he could be viewing.
