The voice acting leaves a lot to be desired. Nice refresh of the original but without the emotions which I believe is due to the voice acting. Worth watching but loses it's nostalgia after first watch. Beautiful graphics is only reason to watch again.

The visual look to the film is well done. But, it felt like I was watching a computerized remake of the original animated film. It was interesting how it could look real with this new type of production. It is an okay entertaining movie.

This is a visually gorgeous movie, what they have accomplished is remarkable. However this didn't quite capture the same emotion that the animated classic did. I was mostly put off at my favorite song getting redone and not for the better.

May be my absolute favorite Disney movie, both the live action and animated features. Well worth price and still tugs at your heartstrings while watching the stunning visuals. All the colors just POP! 4K really has revolutionized home theater...Still have not see the 8K so I cannot compare...but what's next 360 degree home theatre screens? Hmmm have to experience it in a theatre first :)

Despite reviews saying all the characters were emotionless and it made the movie boring and ruined what it use to be, we completely disagree with those reviews. This was a cute movie that all ages can enjoy. For the most part, everything that was in the original movie was in this movie. There is one Timon and Pumbaa scene missing, that was in the original. This was a good and captivating movie. We would definitely recommend it!

"Lion King" live action is an excellent family movie. The 4K resolution was fantastic. The CGI was also great and you really suspend disbelief that these are talking jungle animals. The steel book makes for a nice shelf presence and the digital code is a bonus. Consider the "Lion King" live action movie as an excellent stand alone, and not compared against the classic animated "Lion King."

The original Lion King is the standard. the one in real nice thing I like about the new version or the live version of Lion King as they bought back and change Earl Jones to voice Mufasa. the live-action version of Lion King is almost like the original Disney cartoon. The exception is that the original voice talent the original Disney cartoon (with he exception of James Earl Jones) weren't redoing their own voice overs. It's not a bad live action CGI movie, but yet why redo something when you don't have too. If you like the Lion King you might like the live action CGI version.

This is a good movie but doesn't compare to the original cartoon. The animation of this movie is fantastic. So realistic. I think it is how realistic it was that was its demise. The expressions did not show on the characters like the way the cartoons showed it. It's like looking at any real animal. You cannot tell how the animal feels through their face because all that moves is pretty much their eyebrows and mouth. But all in all, the movie was pleasant on the eyes and fun for the kids. Just a few changes that made it different from the original. There will be a lot of adults who grew up with the original that will not like it.

I bought this for my library and had my niece over to watch it to give her parents a "date night". She wasn't able to see it while it was in theaters. Long story short, she was absolutely mesmerized by the story and amazing graphics. There were a couple of scary scenes like the hyenas but she got through them OK with no nightmares. The 4K on a 70-inch 4K screen with a decent sound system was amazingly life-like.

Disney did another stunning live movie. It's cute, funny, it's a very beautiful movie. It can never beat its original, more colorful animated version for me, but that's no insult to Disney. It's just because we've already taken the original into our hearts. What they've done here however, is truly stunning, something only Disney can do. Like all other Disney movies, this one is, too, a keeper.

I enjoyed what they did because I was a huge fan of the original 90s animated version like many are. But the small new things they did add? Didn't work for my taste...they took out key lines of the original but kept everything else. Like this version doesn't bring anything new it's a copy and paste with some small changes that do nothing for it. The CGI looks great, some of the songs were good...I picked it up on sale 4k version. Basically if you've seen the original you've seen this one and no I don't think the new generation really clicked with it lol if anything show them the original.

If there was one movie to show how good 4k movies can look it is this one here. 4k Is impeccable here, perhaps the best looking 4k movie that came out this year. Dolby Atmouse was underwhelming but bumping up the audio made it a bit better. The low point of this is the story adaptation. The thing most people complain about is that the animals do not express facial emotions as much as they should. But for being a CGI dominated live action, I though it was pretty good. If you want to test how good your 4k TV looks then this is a no brainer.

Love the animated film cried obviously and when I heard they made this into a live action couldn’t wait jumped right off my seat for it I didn’t see it in theaters because I figured it was great anyways I have the diamond edition of the animated film and overall this movie is nearly exactly like the animated film I think it’s perfect

The animated Lion King came out when I was a kid and it was easily one of my favorite Disney movies. I was excited to see what they would do to create a live version and I was not disappointed! Great movie. I managed to get this copy as a Deal of the Day and am thrilled to add it to my collection. Awesome Steelbook Case 4K and BluRay Discs Digital Code For $10. Love it!

Thrilled to have a fee Disney classic films in a quality hard product, not just streamed from the cloud. When we lose electricity for several days and the grandkids come over to keep warm and comfortable, we’re able to put a movie on for them because we have a generator. It helps us and them stay content and get through the uncertain times without wifi.

My girlfriend loves this movie. Me, on the other hand, not so much. It is 99% the same film, scene for scene. That's pretty boring to me. If I wanted to watch the original, I'd just watch the original.

I really enjoyed watching this heart warming film with my Mother because a number of years ago, I purchase this same movie for her. But at that time, when I purchased the movie the Lion King, it was a cartoon movie. But it really didn't matter to me because all I wanted to do for my Mother is purchase both films.

Aside from the sturdier packaging, the steelbook just has exclusive artwork that only a casual collector would appreciate. No additional content or free gimmicky branded toys but if you're a Disney fanatic, it wont take much convincing to pay an extra $5 to land the steelbook. As with Disney, I'm sure crazier editions will come out to satisfy the hardcore collectors.

I enjoyed this movie very much. The photo-realistic locations and animals are amazing and the story is true to the original, with a few new moments of comic relieve thrown in. Perhaps not as monumental as the original Lion King, still it is a movie that can be watched over and over again. Be sure to watch the bonus features to learn more about how the movie was made.

Being a dedicated TLK fan for years, I knew that I had to add this to my collection. I saw it on opening night in Dolby Atmos, and knew that this would replicate that experience... especially in my own home theater projector setup. I love the artwork of the SteelBook... absolutely stunning. Would highly recommend this to any inhabitant of the the Pride Lands!
