Just a personal preference but the animated version seemed more real and the characters more likable

Not nearly as good as the original. It wasn't bad but definitely not the original. Good soundtrack.

I never thought they could top the original Lion King well I was wrong and glad I was. The picture is fabulous I thought the animals were real at first glance.CG has came a long way and 4 K really helps two thumbs up.

Disney is a money hungry company. There will never be a remake better than their original animated features. I get that they are trying to reach a new younger generation that didn't experience the originals, but you can't recapture the magic. If you saw the original, then you know the story, and if you don't know the story, then i am sorry for you.

Picked up at a promo price and dig the steelbook artwork and I am amazed at the picture quality of this 4K disc transfer! Movie is beat per beat of the cartoon just about but its fun to revisit from a different perspective.

Quality and creativity is definitely the theme of this movie. Would recommend for family night !

Good movie but it is not like the original the talking is weird and there is facial expressions

It's not as good as the original, but the movie is gorgeous in 4k, so it's still worth the buy.

This version of the Lion King with real animals is so good. Takes it to a whole new level . Loved the animated movie but now prefer this movie version better. If you own the animated version this version is a must have.

I rather watch the original. Not liking some of the cast. Pretty sure that I am being bias.

though i have seen bits and pieces of the animated version. i was glad to get the version in a more lifelike style as they have done with jungle book. a great movie visually and do highly recommend everyone to watch.

I love that this came with the digital, Blu-ray and dvd. I have back ups in every vehicle and stored on my iTunes account. Movie is great for toddlers and grown ups alike. And the case... it’s toddler proof ;)

Amazing story, music, dialogues, animation. One of best animated movie for all ages. I watched it on the plane and insisted to my wife to watch it. We both loved it and had to get our own copy. Beautiful movie!

This movie was great and the picture was so beautiful! Went to the theater to see it and I knew I was going to buy it when it came out on blue ray. I would recommend this movie to anyone especially a Disney fan.

The new Lion King is a great live action movie that stays true to the original movie while giving it a very lively feel. I strongly recommend this movie to any fan of the original.

Based off of user reviews on several sights I made this purchase for its picture and sound but also enjoyed the movie. Never watched the original so cannot compare the two but was very pleased with the story.

Nothing beats the animated version but this live action version is good as it is. There are times when the cgi looks fake but the movie sticks to what the story is about so it is worth adding to your collection!

I'm not sure why this movie has any bad reviews. It's fantastic on all levels. Fans of the original and people new to Disney will really like this. The CGI and voice acting is top notch as well as the visuals.

The Lion King it’s most definitely a new classic and lovely memories of childhood, great quality. I Previously own it on DVD and Blu Ray but as a 4K SteelBook presentation it’s a must keep collectable item!!
