We got this for about $50 and it's normally way more than that. We already have these movies but this set is super stylish and comes in a box that resembles a book with a magnetic flap. Each movie has 3-4 discs and they are all gold and black bluray cases. The whole thing looks amazing.

I bought this for my fiance. She already had the extended editions on dvd and didn't see the reason for getting the trilogy on bluray, but she loves this set. The interior is a bright gold, and has a map of middle earth printed in it. The sound and picture are fantastic!

I can’t believe how long I have waited to see the extended versions. It’s a must for any middle earth fan. So much scenes that explain the movie and storyline so much better. It’s great quality and shiny.

I love this trilogy! Could not say more and watching them is stunning! The extended edition helps to explain the story better. Bought this because of the good price years after release.

Grab these before they start to disappear from shelves... If you've only seen the hobbit films then you need to watch the sequel stories and don't forget the extended versions because they contain fully done scenes, not some shoddy outtakes! Don't over think it, just buy them!

If you haven’t seen his movie you’re really short-changing yourself. It’s an instant classic plus with all of the extra bonus features it gives you a much deeper appreciation of the efforts that were put into creating such an awesome collection.

One of my all time favorites. Love how it’s extended edition but the special features are only dvd quality and not blu ray which kind of sucks. still has awesome artwork with it.

It is hard to put into words the amount of details Peter Jackson packed into this trilogy of Tolkien's. He succeeded where other animated movies failed. I got this set to replace the Collector's Edition DVD sets that were lost over a year ago.

This series has been a favorite of mine since reading the books as a teenager. I bought the dvd versions as they came out but contemplated buying the blu ray versions. So happy I did. The crisp beautiful scenery of Middle Earth jumps from the screen. Well worth what I paid.

I've always loved these movies. The filming was adapted from the books very well. If you love LOTR, this is the set for you. I can't watch the normal movies anymore. Extended editions or nothing, plus it is packed with tons of bonus features

When I first got the disks I thought I had to return them because they were in 4K UHD cases. It turned out they were Blu-ray, just in the wrong cases. One of them was damaged in shipping, but not badly enough for me to return them. I have had a terrible time getting the movies and I am glad to finally get what I wanted.

Considering how old the movies are, they do look a little better and sound just slightly better (in certain scenes) than the DVD versions that I have. This is one of those movies that have re-watch value.

This is a must have if you're a fan of LOTR. Love the extra scenes. You can invest a whole day watching all 3 movies if you play back to back. What a great box set

Until the 4K is realized (soon, I think) this is the version to own. The extended versions are much better than the originals, however they are long so maybe it’s best to be a fan first.

Overall I love this collection. I have always wanted the extended version of the Lord of the Rings! All the discs work great and I am looking forward to viewing all the additional content.

I was expecting just to receive the discs and nothing more but I was wrong I received an awesome map inside each fold of the sleeve along with some pretty cool artwork. Definitely worth picking up if you’re a fan of getting extras.

These three extended editions are the best as far as story-wise and so much better than the theatrical versions of the film. Everything is better explained and the new scenes are vast improvements. The extended scenes added bits and parts that I consider a must see.

While it is unfortunate that there is that slight green tint in the first movie, I feel that this Blu-Ray Collection is more than worth the price of admission. I must have for fans of the series.

3 of the best movies of all time, and one of the greatest trilogies of all time. The story, characters, and imagery are awesome. The Extended Editions add to the story and in some cases answers questions that were not answered or explained in the theatrical versions.
