This is my fist extended edition that I have purchased. Extra scenes and LOTS of bonus features! Worth every penny!! Buy it!

And I will be keeping them for sentimental reasons... The blu-ray however, will be the ones I watch from now on. Fantastic visuals and wonderful behind the scenes extras.

Not perfect, but since you can't get the Appendices on the newer 4K editions, this will do. Video quality is good overall, minus the greenish tint. Audio is definitely a weak point for this set, the sound stage feels small and the highs are a bit tinny. Still, it's nice to have this classic trilogy in HD.

I bought to replace my extended editions on DVD once I upgraded to an HDTV. The difference is amazing and worth it, especially if you have coupons and or discounts when this is marked down to $55.

Great movie trilogy. Price was good . I gave it as a Christmas and the recipient loved it. He said that the picture was beautiful.

These movies are a favorite of mine. I couldn’t get the surround to work with my sound bar but the quality of movies still stand up!

Already had this movie. My grandson moved to Colorado, called me and asked if I would PLEASE send it to him. I did, but bought another set for me!

The additional scenes add so much to the story and character stories. Without these extra scenes so much of the movie is missing!

While I prefer the theatrical cuts, this set comes with so much great material that it's worth the cost no matter what. While none of it is new, having these movies in great HD is a treat.

The movies are awesome, particularly on bluray! I highly recommed. The only downside I found is that there is no dvd version of the movie included. Seeing as the tag price is so high I would've hoped for those.

Without a doubt, the Lord of the Rings films truly do justice to Tolkien's writings, bringing his words to the silver screen, Great to have the 3 films bundled on to one disc.

A must have collection for any middle earth fans. I previously had the collection on dvd but the difference on blu ray is astounding.

Perfect item for my gf. She is a huge LOR fan so now she will be able to spend even more hours watching it.

My wife is obsessed with these movies. So is my Sister-in-Law. I grabbed this for her as a Christmas Gift. Excellent purchase.

Must have for any fan. They add more detail to the story. After watching the long edition i can not watch the regular edition.

A couple of potentially misleading things: the digital copy for this collection has expired, and the bonus discs are not Blu-Ray. That said, there are no less than FOUR audio commentaries for each film; behind-the-scenes, "fly-on-the-wall" documentaries for each; and the same map of Middle Earth from the books is featured in the packaging. The rest includes the same series of documentaries I remember from the original extended DVD release.

LOR is one of my favorite movies of all time! I think the price is fair and the video quality is pretty good as well. I recommend.

Love this pack that comes with original 3 films and there extended cuts. Excellent picture and sound!!!

Wonderful trilogy! The extended editions added so much to the story we never saw in the theatrical versions. I will always go back to watch the extended editions!
