I had the blu-ray extended version, after getting a 4K player I decided it would be worth the upgrade…it was.

Always great film set in excellent 4K output. Just the thing for my new 4K TV. Color, sound and detail can't be beat for this classic.!

Fantastic 4k transfer. My only negative is, halfway through the movie you have to switch disks.

If you're thinking about the purchase, just go ahead and do it. You don't need my view on one of the greatest movie series, you know how great it is

So glad that I purchased this in 4k. One of my favorite films. The extended version is long so be prepared. Other than that, enjoy your time in the Shire!!!

Love the movies and love the packaging that it came in. I went ahead and put this in my entertainment center and it looks fantastic! Would 100% recommend

Giving 5 stars because I love Peter Jackson's work. Though I didn't notice vast differences between bluray and 4k

this is the perfect set for fans of the Trilogy, includes regular and extended versions in 4k . way up upgrade from standard bluray worth every penny

This series is an all time classic in my book. Throw inn 4k and extended versions...no brainer.

I had not seen the extended version and it does make it feel like a new movie. The 4K and Dolby atmos are excellent as well

Amazing, hands down the best way to watch these movies in terms of visual/audio quality. Nice that it comes with both the original and extended editions.

The overall picture quality and sound was excellent. Some of the effects shots were an obvious overlay. They didn't transfer well to 4K. My Fellowship disc had a bad scene. The scene with Gandalf and the Balroc would not play. Disc would glitch and jump ahead to the next scene.

I love this trilogy more than all other trilogies and this is a must for any big fan of the LOTR trilogy. Beautifully rendered and presented on your TV.
