Love this trilogy and the upscale to 4k UHD is the perfect way revisit middle-earth over and over again

Excellent movies , the 4K picture is phenomenal and highly recommended for the LOTR lover in all of us..

They really cleaned up the 4K version of LotR. In its defense, it wasn't originally filmed in HD format. While it doesn't look as crisp as The Hobbit, I think LotR retains that dark, gritty quality that this trilogy calls for.

Absolutely worth the upgrade. The picture quality is astounding. They've never looked this good before.

Fantastic picture quality on this set. Not a big fan of having one case hold 9 disc but it does the job.

This isn't a review for the movies themselves or the store. I hadn't seen them available for quite some time on Amazon or best buy so when they became available, I got them. I didn't get around to going through them for about 3 or 4 months. My mistake. The quality of the disc's is the problem. I have 2 4k readers whihh have no issue reading my other movies. Out of the 6 extended versions (I didn't bother with the shorter versions, but I imagine the same holds true) either the Xbox one x couldn't even define the disc, but the other unit could or even if it got defined it would always start skipping in multiple sections of the movies. Take two towers second disc as an example. Xbox wouldn't recognize it. The ps5 did and played fine until helms deep. Then constant freezing. Tried swapping around, disc cleaned (even though they were fresh out of the plastic wrap), etc. I also noticed the case that holds the disc's do a poor job in holding them. 4 or 5 were loose, and even when I put them back in place they or others would fall out. Warner Brothers has done a really bad job printing these discs and packaging them. And for $90 or so dollars that is inexcusable. Of course since I waited I am past the best buy warranty period so I don't know of anything I can do. I don't really just want a swap that still has poor pressings. What I could watch was great and the audio was fantastic. They just royally screwed up the easiest part of the process. I recommend avoiding this until a new sku is released and some good news comes out. Stick with the Blu ray versions for now. I had seen these issues reported on Amazon a couple of years ago but figured it was safe after so much time and that these aren't the same batch pressed as originally done. So I'm out $90, have a bookshelf end basically, and my only real option is for Warner Brothers to do something which I don't expect nor do I know how to go about (feel free to tell me how if you know).

I was so excited to get this movie in 4k. It was well worth it. A must have.

Huge improvement on the video and sound quality. It’s also nice to have both versions of each film.

Lord of the Rings in 4k.. you cannot lose. Would be nice to have a nicer case but no biggie

The picture quality is unparalleled when it comes to 4k. A huge step up from the DVD and Blu Ray sets!
