Read all the pre hype about the new 4k remaster and was sold out locally till one day I got; lucky and drove out to the store to pick it up as curbside pickup with price matching was not available. Picked up on a price match however the digital redeem is not the 4k remaster on Vudu or MA. Don't have a 4k player yet so haven't seen it on disc. There are a lot of people complaining about the new color updates though.

Movies are excellent as you would expect, however the case on this 4k collection is the worst I have ever seen. Multiple discs were flopping around in the case getting scratched. Nothing I did could secure the discs. I bought a 2nd one and had the same problem, got lucky that the 2nd was less scratched. Purchase with caution.

One of my fave movies. A couple of the disks froze but oh well. Great sale price & purchase.

Picture quality is very good, the first movie for being 20 years old, looked like it just got released yesterday. The reason for the 3 star review is because it took me 3 different sets before I got a set that all extended edition discs played, I had to return 2 sets and the 3rd they gave me was the steelbook version. Finally, with the steelbook version, all 6 discs played.

One of my favorites trilogies ever. Good picture quality and the sound quality is even better.

Disc 1 froze at one point and had to restart my Sony 700 player, but it ran through fine after that.

This remains one of my favorite movies of all time. This 4K upscale of the movie series was terrific!

These appear to be in a box set like all the previous versions but they are not. They are all in one skinny little box. A lot of money to pay for such a small upgrade if they were all individually boxed like the previous sets and looked nice on the Shelf like The Originals, it would have been a different story.

Never seen the movies but I'm sure I'll enjoy them.

What can I say? It’s LOTR in beautiful 4K. And both versions

Uses an old studio master but the 4K HDR is worth the upgrade.
