It was nice but I returned it and bought them all digital for $30 total. Saved a lot of money. If you want the physical copy it’s worth it. Just hard to compete with digital price

I was a bit underwhelmed at the quality of these movies. They look good....just no where near as good as I was hoping considering they are 4k blu-ray. Still nice to have these @ home versus streaming each movie off of HBO Max.

These films look amazing in 4K. But I took off some stars for the fact that the "extended" versions of these films are each on two separate discs. So you have to stop in the middle and switch discs. Lame! Aren't we past that kind of thing these days?

Package was perfect, arrived early but the quality leaves a lot to be desired. Blurays will not stay in sleeve, and for the money you'd expect it to be at least a steel case. The printing on the discs is very poor quality.

Beautiful picture, but this lacks all the great special features from the old Blu-ray set. Also the packaging does not reliably keep disks in place

Well the case sucks because it does not keep the disc in place. They constant pop out on their own and can cause damage so I had to put them in a different case.

Great movies - really lousy packaging for this expensive box set. We bought ours and upon opening the case realized several of the discs had come off the cheapo disc holders and were rattling around getting all kinds of scratched up. Wayyyy to pricey to have two or three discs in the set not be able to play fully without freezing up due to scratches. Avoid.

Both the picture and sound are outstanding! However, considering the films are 20 years old, the price is very high.

Unfortunately, the packaging design for this set is abysmal. I went through 3 attempts to purchase it, 2 from Amazon both broken and scratched and 1 from Best Buy with the same issue. Tried to return it, but there aren't returns on Blu Rays so I am stuck with it since it isn't available anymore. Ended up getting the steel case and got lucky that it came without damage. Recommend that set instead.

Good 4k dvd pacakage with high quality and contents and good discounted pricing.

At this price piont, it should include all bonus material!!

It was with great anticipation that I unboxed this set of extended Lord of the Rings, The first disc of The Fellowship of the Ring was great and played perfectly on my Samsung UBD-M9500. Disc 2 of the set refused to even boot up. I fired up my Samsung UBD-M8500 and loaded the disc and it booted, and I start watching, rather upset that the older Samsung couldn't decode Dolby Atmos. Ten minutes later, the picture froze for thirty seconds, then jumped ahead a few minutes, froze again, jumped again, ad infinitum. I then returned the set to Best Buy. I'm going to buy another set, but know that I will have to watch about 18 hours of movie to make sure all the discs are functional.

The movies are great, but the case/packaging is horrible. Upon opening the case, almost every single disk had fallen out. Almost none of them played because they were heavily scratched. I ended up returning the set.

This review has nothing to do with the quality of the movies (which are amazing) or the presentation (which was incredible). The plastic disc holder inside the case is the flimsiest I’ve ever seen, and this set cost $100. The discs were loose when I opened it the first time, and they would not stay in, even when you press down on them hard. I had to return the set because the discs were damaged inside the case. If you buy this, inspect the discs at the store before you take them home, and then put the discs somewhere else to protect them from this horror.

Two stars not for the movie itself but the packaging it came broken

I bought and returned this twice. Disc 1 on both copies had a small crack that made it unusable. Must have been a production error.
