4k version is miles better than the standard definition which produces a hazy picture on my LG OLED C7. Buy in store to make sure you don't get yourself a dented box from couriers. The Theatrical version provides much better Context and Narrative on the movie as a whole. Unfortunately BOTH Theatrical discs for the first movie in the series had Hard stutter and Picture and Sound would freeze. Discomforting to learn the Quality Control on the discs themselves isn't very good on a $120 SteelBook set.

Great movie, but case showed up dented and I didn’t open and notice until it was too late to take back! Disappointed at delivery!

Disappointing materials used to make this steelbook and also disappointed about the changes to the film with DNR

My steelbook arrived dented. It was thrown in a box with the Hobbit steelbook with very little padding. Best Buy let me return it and I bought the traditional boxset instead. The movie transfer is ok but way too much DNR was applied. Dolby Atmos gets a A! I never though I’d like it better than the blu ray extended edition’s DTS but the Dolby atmos is an upgrade!

My set was slashed along the front of all three movies with a razor knife. It appears that when the box was opened in the warehouse, the person ran a razor knife along the box to cut it open and slashed across the face of all the movies. I'm not sure how many boxed sets are in the carton, but I'm sure that probably another dozen more people in the same carton had their boxes slashed as well. BestBuy should realize that the people that buy these sets want them in mint condition as collectors sets, and they should treat them accordingly, and not slash them up with a box cutter.

The product came damaged on the outside and in the actual steelbook

looks well but When i unpacked the delivery, the DVD's were empty.

I got mine today... first movie had a loose disc.. tiny scratch... 2nd movie... well... it had no discs... now i am chatting with support.. which takes a long time.. and they are not available. uhhhh.

Of the 6 sets I ordered for friends and family, 4 had spine slashes. The plastic was intact so it looks like the manufacturer who put the set together screwed them up. How hard is it to use a safety razor blade to open their master sets before the final shrink wrap process? This set is to EXPENSIVE to have easily avoided defects out of the box.

The box was kicked in, but I ended up keeping it as I wanted the collection pretty badly. The second movie had some lagging and corrupted section which was very disappointing. Overall, I would not recommend this item.

Disappointed by the extremely heavy handed DNR and EE applied to these transfers. Definitely not a 4K scan, more like a uscaled 1080p of the 2012 files.

Don’t buy the steelbook. Whoever is contacted for the Warner Bros steelbooks have repeatedly been missing disc in packaging. SMH

Received in the mail with a dent on the case that holds the 3 Steelbooks. Spine slash on one of the Steelbooks itself. Considering how expensive these Steelbooks are, you would think bestbuy would do a better job protecting them. It’s sold out right now so I don’t know when I can get a replacement. If ever. I haven’t seen the movies yet so I can’t give an assessment on that.

Pretty much impossible to get a set that is not damaged / dented in some way.

I'm sure the movies are good. Ordered 2 sets due to all the damage I have been hearing about. All 6 movies had slashes on their spine. Employees need to be trained how to open boxes without ruining product. What a shame.

I haven’t watched the actual movies yet but the steel case for the individual steelbooks is bent and dented (even though I did In-Store pick up) so make sure you check it out before you leave the store.

Best Buy needs to do a better job protecting steelbook sets during shipping. This is the second one I've received that had the outer shell dented either in the warehouse or during shipping.
