I enjoyed this movie but it was not heavily promoted in the cinema. The cast are all male figures that we come to love and some, to hate.

Yes it's a remake and Steve McQueen and Yul Brenner were awesome in the original. But you can never go wrong with Denzel Washington. Plus there are very few noteworthy Western movies these days. This movie has a great cast of misfits who take on Bogue and his army to save a town. Lots of violence which is to be expected in a cowboy shoot 'em up movie. This latest rendition of the Magnificent 7 is top notch! Check it out!

Doesn't even come close to the original but for a remake it's not bad. Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt definitely make the movie. The movie would have set itself apart a little bit with the help of some signature music like the original but of course not the same. The casting of the Characters and the acting were well done. The storyline follows the original which is to be expected no mystery there. As far as the overall movie they did a good job. Worth adding to your collection.

I can't say I've ever been a big fan of westerns but every so often one will come along that I'll check out, this movie happened to be one of those movies. With plenty of star power and a reasonably decent script the movie was well worth watching for those like me that don't watch many of these type of movies..... I'm sure those that are bigger fans of the genre will probably have a few issues with the movie.

This movie starring Denzel Washington is by far one of the top 5 westerns of all time. This is a remake of a 1960s film where Denzel is hired by a town being taken over by a ruthless kingpin who has recruited the town's marshall to join his gang of thugs. To fight this ruthless group Denzel hires six of the best group of fighting men to assist him in taking back a town and restoring law and order for its people.

This is a remake that actually turned out quite good. Is it as good as the original Magnificent Seven? No, but the makers of this movie were at a disadvantage from the start, because the first one was epic! However, with a little bit of change to the plot, and some diversity to the characters, and an incredible cast, this movie is a great movie in and of itself. Worth seeing! Worth buying! Loved it!

This is a fairly straightforward retelling of this tale, but could have gone severely wrong if this cast wasn't involved. Might have been better with expanded character development, but that's a difficult balancing act with a large ensemble of this many stars. Would have liked to see a more in-depth look at the production with a better set of extra features, but that's just the way of the world these days. As a recent production, the transfer is pretty flawless to my eye.

Was great to see a movie that was not a waste of time, full of trash. Like both the video AND audio quality of this pristeen Blu-ray. Always enjoy a good western, and it was great to see some seasoned actors in this, e.g. Denzel. Nice scenery and well-shot movie. I won't get into the original vs. this"re-make." Watch and decide on your own. Thanks Best Buy for getting this to me in a jiffy.

A remake of the classic western of the same name (which itself is a reimaging of the legendary Kurosawa film "Seven Samurai"), this 2016 version was quite a bit of fun. Story is simple, an eclectic group of seven men defend a small town from a ruthless tycoon. Cast is superb. Video and audio quality of the blu ray release was outstanding (although still hoping that Sony will start releasing height channel mixes that are available on the UHD discs to blu ray). Recommended!

I liked this movie but as a fan of the original western with yule Brenner and steve McQueen the characters fell a little short. I did like the story a little better and i thought ethan hawke was cool and the character billy rocks was awesome. The diversity of the new film was very good and i liked what they did. The original had a little more star power for the time than this one did, with charles bronson, james coburn, and robert vaughan...and eli walsh as the bad guy.

I've always been a big fan of the original "Mag 7" from the '60s, so there was a little trepidation when I picked up a copy of the latest version of The Magnificent 7. I was pleasantly pleased. This is a good movie with a solid cast. It doesn't deviate a lot from the original (smart of the producer's part). What is does have is beautifully videographed locations, a fast-moving plot, and Denzel Washington. Fans of the original film will like this new take on a classic.

Most movie remakes pale in comparison to the original. The Japanese original, "The Seven Samurai" is a true action classic. The first American re-make, "The Magnificent Seven" was excellent and is a western classic as well. The latest remake retains all the elements of classic westerns with all the modern technical bells and whistles, an first class cast and very well directed. Highly recommended!

My family really enjoyed the movie. It was so much action in it. The acting was really great. My nephew liked it so much that i gave the movie to him. I normally don't give me movies away. Everyone said that it was the best movie that they had seen in awhile. He told me that he has watched the movie several times with his wife and some friends,There was never a dull moment in that movie.

what do you expect from a movie that has been remade..... same old same old with just current actors to fulfill the roles.

Denzel in a western? Enough said. Really enjoyed his performance as well as Chris Patt, Ethan Hawke, Byung-Hun Lee and rest of the cast. This is a great release. If you're thinking of buying this BD, 4K or Steelbook (If still available in stores) go ahead, you wont be disappointed. One of the best looking 4Ks to date and great movie overall, with plenty of extras. Very happy with my purchase!

Usually I'm against remakes, because the majority of the time they are terrible. Every once in awhile there will be a decent movie and this is one of them. The cast is amazing, it's funny and it's action packed. It sticks fairly close to the original, which was a remake also. If you wanna have a good time watching a good action movie, with some drama and amazing shots, watch this movie.

This version of The Magnificent Seven is not just a movie being remade it captures the spirit of the original and adds more to the characters motives other than being paid. They come together to be paid but realize that there is more to this job than money. For many it offers a chance to redeem themselves, bury the past and gives a glimpse that there are things we should fight for just because. The acting is just great and the cast really shines.

I didn't see this in the theaters and put off buying the dvd because, how could it possibly be better? But being a Chris Pratt and Denzel fan, I finally caved and bought the dvd. It was a lot of fun, good acting, and good old movie making expertise, i.e. not cgi. More comedy than the first, and a great job by Vincent D'Onofrio whom I still picture in Law and Order!

First off, the premise behind this movie is copied from the story line behind Kurosawa's 7 Samurai. The only thing that changed is the time period and the people, but the basic premise is the same. That being said the pace of the movie was good, and the action pieces were well done. Chris Pratt stands out a lot to me, as the comedic humor man, as well as a few other actors. Also I am not a huge western movie type of person but this movie was a lot of fun.
