Having grown up on the Yul Brenner version of this classic story, I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy the newest incarnation (there have been some really bad ones). To my surprise and delight I really enjoyed the film. The actors played up their roles in a serious-but-fun-yet-not-quite-campy manner (if that can even be such a thing). The bad guy was 2-dimensional, but served his purpose.

I was very surprised by this remake. I thought the production value would be low but they pulled it off. It was very entertaining, I mean who doesnt love the cast. The entire cast did an excellent job. FYI the Native American is a scene stealer...he was excellent and should be cast in the role of Terry McGinnis if they do a Batman Beyond movie with Michael Keaton.

I own a DVD of the original Magnificent 7 and this newer version follows the basic storyline plot but with some interesting and different changes in the seven characters portrayed and how the movie unfolds and ends, etc. The BluRay copy of this movie is excellent in both video and audio quality. Glad I purchased it and also nice to get a good deal on it at Best Buy..................

This is a powerhouse cast and Chris Pratt isn't the only source of comedy. The 4k is amazing, the dust, the sound is rattling, ricocheting bullets. Using the Samsung 4k player and a Sony Bravia with the X1 chip. Didn't use any of the software "help" available on the unit, just not needed. Pick up the movie if you want a great western, which there haven't been many as of late!

Two genres of movie I don't care for are Musicals and Western. That said, the combination of Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke drew me to this movie. The plot is well done, and the acting is second to none. In 4K this movie POPS and the sound is amazing. I highly recommend this Western, and that's saying a lot from a guy who doesn't particularly care for Westerns.

I think that "The Magnificent Seven" was one of the greatest classic action films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite classic action films of all-time. I have seen and enjoyed this film several times and I also think that "The Magnificent Seven" has a lot of action, mystery and suspense including an exciting and original storyline.

First we watched the blue ray (HD not UHD) on a 65" Sony 4K TV. It won't work with UHD disks because it doesn't have HDCD 2 (UHD copy protection) circuitry. So then I tried it on a 40" Samsung UHD with the Samsung UHD player. Beautiful picture. Really better than 2K seen on 4K TV. The film is more engaging than the original because of the towns residents and the backstory.

Was a great Western with plenty of action and stars. It is in alot of ways not the same as the original . Or the other remakes that have been made of this movie. The makers of this version thought of a different way to see both sides of the movie. Not just what everyone expected would be like. The original and this remake are the best ones of all the others that were made.

During a recent Best Buy two for one sale I purchased the Blu-ray of the Denzel Washington version of The Magnificent Seven. This remake of a remake of Kurosawa's Seven Samurai is great fun. I think it's the best western I've seen since the remakes of True Grit and The 3:10 to Yuma. Maybe westerns are better the second time around --- or third.

A top notch cast with a top notch director behind the camera. The Magnificent 7 is a must own for anyone that enjoys humor, fast-paced action, and mind-blowing scenery. This movie will really utilize your entertainment center. I won't pretend to have seen the original but I plan to now that I have seen this and my curiosity is grabbed. So, if you like fun action and are looking to expand your collection, this movie is a must.

The casting is outstanding (although, in some ways, can't compare to McQueen & Brenner in the 1960 version), and the action is the best of the three (ie. the 2016 & 1960 US versions, plus the original 1954 Japanese "Seven Samurai"). Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, & Chris Pratt are all top-notch. Byung-hun Lee's performance as "Billy Rocks" is one you won't forget.

The Magnificent 7 been done multiple times over the years and is without a doubt a classic story. This version brings it to us with modern product values and storytelling but without sacrificing anything that makes the story so worth watching. Also, the casting on this is very good and worth mentioning.

Great movie I loved the way Denzel Washington help the town and the woman and man who went to ask for help again I’m not going to say too much of this movie I don’t wanna give anything away. D’Onfrio was a great actor as usual as was Chris and Ethan they all were very good movie

Its been a long time since the western genre has been relevant in American cinema. Often times thought of as slow and plodding. Well this is a different take on the genre and is a fun, action packed romp that is worth watching. Denzel Washington leads an all star cast including Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'onofrio and many others. Check it out.

My title for this review says it all . The seven actors who portrayed the characters in this movie made this movie feel good. Great western feel . If you love westerns and six shooters this movie is for you . Great action scenes and comedy . What more can you ask for .. uh hello DENZEL WASHINGTON AND CHRIS PRATT are in this movie .. lol great purchase

This is one good looking 4k presentation! I really was impressed visually by cinematography on this film and I'll bet you will be too! Both the Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 sound tracks sound 5/5 star quality! Combined with a respectful retelling of a all time classic western you have a winner on your hands! I HIGHLY recommend this 4k film!

I absolutely love this movie! Although it is a remake (sort of) of the 1960s Magnificent Seven, it does a very good job standing on its own with a slightly different story line. The acting, the screen writing, the cinematography are great. I have watched this movie at least 3 times since I bought it. I highly recommend this movie is you love Westerns.

I generally hate the idea of remakes, particularly of well-known classic films, but this remake of The Magnificent Seven was very well done. To start, it has an all-star cast. Sometimes that doesn't equate to a great film, but in this case it does. They all worked well together, and no one star crowded out the others. There's great action, great gunfights, and great humor at times. Give it a watch. You'll like it.

We got this movie for a change on the typical Action movie. It didn't disappoint. I remember watching the original, and thinking just how gritty it was...and this one added some comedy to the mix that I don't remember from the original. I actually appreciated that, since it meant that this appealed to younger generations within our house and made it more enjoying for the whoel family, instead of just the adults.

As a fan of westerns, Denzel and Chris Pratt, and Akira Kurosawa this movie was a no brainer! I loved how Fuqua seemed to stay closer to the source material from Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai." Stunning action, great dialogue, phenomenal characters and story development. A great addition to any film collection, and a must have for modern western fans!
