If you love the Magnificent Seven story in any of it's versions, you'll love Antoine Fuqua's version. Superb character development, outstanding actors turn in memorable performances. Classic treatment. If you are a fan of the Kurosawa classic, westerns, Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, or Chris Pratt, you'll go nuts for this show, especially in 4K.

Watching this movie reminded me of watching Clint Eastwood old movies "Fists Full of Dollars," "For a Few Dollars More," and "The Good Bad and the Ugly." It's like taking the original version, put new players in, then give it a bit of a twist from the original version starring Yul Brynner. If you like action, the new version has more action.

I'm bias. I will tell you that upfront. I love Denzel Washington. I loved him in the Equalizer and he plays a similar role in the remake of Magnificent 7. He is there to protect the innocent and the weak. His all star cast support him well. It's a fun ride.....with lots of violence. I love a good western. Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen would give their approval. Check it out! You won't be disappointed.

A well done Western but just too much shooting for me! I wouldnt let young people watch this.

This movie is a great ride and interesting remake. Denzel leads a very interesting bunch to help a town in need. The PQ looks fantastic and the DTS 7.1 Audio track will rock many sound systems (although it didn't get the Dolby Atmos track like the UHD release). This movie is a lot of fun and a great reference title to show off your system.

Great cast, and great director, but why not go all out and just make it R rated. Then we would have a much more realistic feel to the acting and action, which are the two main components of this movie. It's still good, I just feel it could be that much better if adult material was handled in an adult manner. I don't "westerns" are considered children's films, so why treat this opportunity as one?

First off the 4k disc picture quaility is great and the sound was satisfying. The movie itself is a fun modern western with some great action set pieces. Denzel Washington was fantastic, Chris Pratt seems to be playing the same character in every movie he's in these days, and the rest of the cast was good. I can not comment on how this compares to the 1960 film because I have not seen it.

This movie is so much fun to watch, mainly due to the great cast and action scenes. It's not up to the level of the original but it's still a very enjoyable movie. As an added bonus, the blu ray disc is designed as a fun cylinder with seven chambers! Now that's awesome.

I'll start by saying the video quality of the 4K UHD is near reference quality. Some shots are truly amazing on 4K. The movie itself is also very entertaining. Denzel and Chris Pratt are excellent. Good action with some humor mixed in. I am not sure how often I would rewatch it now that I know who lives and who dies. However, with the limited offerings on 4K UHD I would definitely recommend.

Being a big fan of western films this is one I was looking forward to and it's a worthy effort. The cast is well balanced with good performances by all and a villain you actually do want to hate. Denzel never fails to be convincing, definitely one of the best actors of his generation. I judge a film based on my potential to rewatch and this is one I can certainly watch a few times.

Entertaining movie, but felt kind of rushed. Needed some more time to flush out the characters more.

This is not your usual remake. It's a fresh take on a classic western that will become a classic in it's own right! Denzel Washington is at his best as the leader of a group of mercenaries that come to the aid of a small town but that's where the similarities to the original end. If you liked the original you will love this version!

I must admit i'm not a big fan of the old western movies, though... this is a great action movie with cowboys, gunmen, Native Americans (good and bad), drinkers, smokers, an evil lord, many knives flying and an Asian in all this. In the end, it is a very good film that brings back the form and style in which films used to be made.

This was an amazing movie, I was a fan of the original and this one is no disappointment eithert, its equally funny as it is action packed. Definitely one of my favorites if you're looking for modern westerns. Blu Ray is the way to go, it gave me all the extra features and documentaries that made the experience even better.

I do like Denzel Washington, and Ethan Hawke. The movie was different from the original. It kept me right there with the story. I am kind known by my friends to fall asleep at every movie that I watch. So I don't go to the movies. If it is something I want to see I have to borrow, or buy it. This one I stayed awake for, n hope didn't fall asleep once. So it is worth the purchase

This movie gives you what you want and look for in a western movie. The plot runs the same as most westerns (good guys gets a gang together to fight the bad guys gang). Action sequences are nicely put together but the directing can sometimes be choppy at times. the 4K transfer is pretty good the HDR is great but the picture can have a bit to much noise at that but still a good transfer

Much better than I had expected. They were smart enough not to try to remake the 1960 original, but rather went to the source material keeping in the same archetypes as the Japanese original. They gave the leader of the seven a true motivation for throwing in with the settlers. Maybe they didn't catch lightning in a bottle like the 1960 version did but a really great enjoyable western.

Had pretty low expectations going in. Turned out to be really enjoyable after the clumsy opening scene. Peter saarsgard is just not a good actor, but he's only in the beginning, one scene in the middle, and the end. Camaraderie among the seven characters was great. Entirely predictable but still a lot of fun to watch

I had seen the original magnificent seven and was wondering how this would compare, and I was very happy with how it was done. Such a great cast that play all of the roles so well and I caught myself so captivated and into the movie I was a little disappointed that the movie has to end. A great must watch/own for me!

Everyone knows by now that the original Magnificent 7 is actually a remake of Akira Kurosawa's The Seven Samurai. This movie is a re-boot or remake if you prefer, of the origianl Magnificent 7. I really liked this version Antoine Fuqua has put out. Great ensemble cast and of course Denzel. How can you go wrong. Nice pace and Chris Pratt lends to the humor. Great movie overall.
