As usual Denzel Washington does an excellent job of portraying the sympathetic individual with a big heart along with a great supporting cast. I especially liked Vincent D'Onofrio's character. Having a strong religious background, I liked his commitment to his faith. Great movie. Strongly recommended for the whole family.

This remake of a classic film is pretty good, but hard to compare. Taken by itself, though, it's a solid western. Denzel Washington plays the lead character who builds a team of misfit gunslingers to protect a town from a tyrant who wants to take their land (and dignity). A lot of bullets, a few explosions, a bunch of dead bad guys, and some likeable but flawed "heros".

This was done in the spirit of the old western: clearly defined good and evil and macho gunslingers coming to the rescue. It is different in the diversity of the 7, but all the action and testerone-infused action is in full display. Great visuals and soundtrack, with a simple yet compelling narrative. Worth a purchase!

I was a little skeptical in buying this because I doubted that this could be better than the original but it was equally entertaining as it took a different approach. However, it still maintained the mystique that the original had, helped by great 4K video and impressive sound. Sit back and enjoy..........

I never seen the original but I really enjoyed this movie. The plot and editing may be off for some since some of the men didn't even give a reason why they chose to do what they did. But the production values and action sure make up for the lack of storytelling. Very enjoyable and some decent humor parts. Denzel is perfect for this role, I'm not sure about the rest though.

Sadly, this film was not recorded on 70mm, but ladies and gentlemen, a real authentic western par excellence! Granted, its a remake of the fabulous original, but well perfect presentation and well worth the price of the 4K Disc. Video - excellent Audio - very good disc extras - madly enjoyable 5/5 for me

I loved this movie because it had caused me all emotions. Happy funny sad mad afraid encouraged, educated, meek enraged. even though it was a revenge type movie it was fun getting to the end and the the ending was believeable most of the good guys did die but it wasn't all of them. Bad guys got what they deserved. .

It doesn't matter if you've seen the original, this remake is a lot of fun, in a mindless, leave-your-brain-at-the-door kind of way. A lot to enjoy, but a bit mindless, so if you like big-screen escapism, it's definitely worth the money.

This was a really good film. I love the original and this new version of a classic western favorite doesn't disappoint. Do I like the original better? Yes I do, but it is very nice to see a modern movie and Director nod and respect the source material from which his movie is based. I wish I had watched this in the theater, but now I can watch it whenever I wish. Danny

Ok western. Not nearly as good as the original ( what remake ever is? ) but watchable.

Very good western, I normally go for John Wayne, Glen Ford, Henry Fonda era western's. I reluctantly watched this one, because most of the remakes are horrible... but I have to say this one is impressive. Denzel does a great job as always. This movie is so good I've bought it as gifts.

This was a great film. I'm not one to watch westerns but I was intrigued by the star power and knew I had to check this one out. I'm glad that I did. It was action packed, mindless, senseless violence. The genre I adore. And I love that it was the black guy who was the last one standing. That rarely happens.

Love this movie. The entire cast does a great job in this one. Lots of action and a good remake of the original movie that i found more exciting. I did not watch the old tv show, so cannot compare there. If you like westerns, denzel, chris pratt, quick draws, or revenge you will likely enjoy this film.

Although I haven't seen the original film, I have to admit that this was a great film. The story was very exciting. The acting from all of the actors was terrific. Visually the film is beautiful. The film score was awesome. Overall, this was a great film. It also includes some terrific supplements. This would make a great addition to anyone's steelbook collection.

Movie really suffers in comparison to original. Writing and cast are mediocre at best.

A lot of re-makes just don't hold up to the original. There are few exceptions, and this is one of them. Although not an original plot and obviously predictable, it is thoroughly entertaining, especially on a big screen and big sound. The cast works well together. I found it worthy of Blu-Ray purchase.

I was a little skeptical of the cast at first. The mixture seemed like it would have sketchy chemistry, but they pulled it off brilliantly. Sit back, relax, enjoy the story, pick out the bits and pieces then watch it again for the things that happen around the fringes of the scenes. You won't be disappointed.

Very entertaining storyline executed by an all-star cast. Kind of lengthy, but interesting the whole way through. I haven't seen the original, but I assume this version is just as good. And of course, the actors are easy on the eyes, which makes the whole movie that much better.

I loved all the actors in this movie. Their different characteristics blended very well together. The movie was entertaining from the very beginning and did not have any low spots as the gathering of the '7' progress. Highly recommend this movie if you are a fan or not of western movies. Denzel did it again.

We weren't sure how to feel about it when we heard they were remaking The Magnificent Seven, but had to go see it. Our daughter doesn't like westerns, but she loved the original series. We all went to see this one and loved it. It is very well done and holds you in place to the end. Great actors and script.
