I love this updated version of a classic western film and I still enjoy the original. I'm not sure what unreasonable expectations individuals have when updates are made in cinema. This is definitely worth a view. Saw in theaters and purchased blu-ray as soon as available. Wonderful, diverse, talented cast!

While being a decent film, this remake can't hold a candle to the original.

I bought this movie on the same trip that I bought STORKS. While STORKS is a fun family movie (especially in 3D) I would not recommend watching this movie with young kids. However, if you are trying to find a western movie to watch by yourself or with other adults, I can DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this MOVIE!! It has lots of great action and the cast is FANTASTIC!!

This remake of the magnificent 7 , was well addressed in it's concept and purpose.. it was the updated version for today audiences.. A lot of respect for cultural, traditions and religion.. I felt the remake gave respect to the original version.. It was a man's movie, high impact with a lot of surprises.

As a fan of Denzel Washington and of the original Magnificent Seven, I thought this was a good up to date version. While it's hard to compare the two I did appreciate this one. Take the time to watch it and appreciate the fact that the original is such a classic that a modern version was attempted!

As everyone knows, the "Magnificent Seven" had its origin with Kurosawa's masterpiece, "The Seven Samurai." I am also a big fan of the Yul Brenner/Steve McQueen version. Both of these movies deserve five stars. This new version is well done but it isn't necessarily better. I do think that the acting is good and Blu-ray enhances the audio and video quality.

I never saw the original so I have nothing to compare this to. All I know is that it is one of my favorite western movies and is definitely one of the best looking 4K movies out there at the moment. The ensemble cast is great and the movie, after a slow build up really shines in the last 30-45 mins.

I am old enough to remember the original Yul Brynner version of the Magnificent 7 which I love. This updated version was a very pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the ensemble cast, imaginative banter between characters and beautiful cinematography. Very well done. I enjoyed from start to finish.

fun cowboy action movie. almost as good as the original.. Denzel was awesome in lead role and had a great supporting cast.. gritty .. ride into town to help towns people get rid of the evil land baron who is out to destroy the town.. town got mostly destroyed but gave them back what was there`s ..

This is a great movie for someone who has a blueray player. It also comes in digital format. The movie has seven main characters who go through lots of stuff to get to the end of the movie. I recommend this to anyone who likes a good modern western with lots of twists.

This is a re-make of a great classic western, and re-makes are often hugely disappointing. This is an exception. The characters are all so well done I didn't spend a lot of time comparing them to the originals. It's a great story, fast paced and very entertaining. I would recommend this to anyone.

A really entertaining film that offers up interesting comparisons to the original. There are numerous parallels to the previous version, but also some fascinating departures. An excellent cast highlighted, in my opinion, by the performances of Vincent D'Onofrio and Martin Sensmier.

We went to see this movie in the theaters and my teenage son was so impressed with it that it made its way to his wish list for Christmas. There are similarities to the original Yul Brynner version but this one stands on it's own while doing homage to the original. A great movie lots of action!

It won't become a classic but it is entertaining enough to sit through. The 4K picture is fantastic. Having said that I'm not sure it didn't take something away from the movie as I kept thinking "what a great picture. " Just a little hokey as most westerns are. Good guys have 9 lives except for the guy who takes one for the team. Never gets old.

This movie was great. There was humor, action, drama and everything else you could think of. We weren't able to see it at the movies so it made it that much better when we watched it at home. They used great actors for each character and that really made this a quality movie to watch and enjoy.

This movie was okay. I think the original was just as good if not better.

I didn't know what to expect, but this movie really stands up in the Western action genre. I loved Young Guns as a kid, and I felt like this had a similar feel. The entire cast is great and it's great to see them come together as a band of misfits to take on the slimy villain in the movie.

Since I am older I remember the original and have watch that several times. Loved that movie. Was very skeptical over this re-make, but watched this with my son, and we Loved it. It has some of the craziness of the original but has its own flare and this cast is awesome also. I must watch...

This movie however was a remake still had my full attention through out the whole movie. Denzel Washington gave a stellar performance as well as Chris Pratt. And I forgot what the original ending was, but this movie ended with a bang. Great Movie kudo's all around for the cast, well done.

Overall I like the packaging of this bluray. For instance, the slip cover is freaking awesome! Then to make things better, it has a Sony coupon that makes Sony-related movies cheaper by $6 on their website. I heard many great things about this movie so I will not doubt the content within the disc. This is a must buy at the current moment!!!
