My actual rating would have been a 3.5. I watched the old Mag7 and I did not like this one as well. The cinematography was good to excellent and the plot was easy to follow. Denzil Washington did an excellent job and I normally do not care for his acting. The Mag7 group composition was pretty non-believable for a Western movie.

Once again, director Antoine Fuqua shines with muse Denzel Washington in this wonderful western remake. All of the ensemble cast shines with the material they are given, and with a big payoff in the final act, it is hard to not enjoy this film. The steelbook artwork is quite nice as well.

considering all the talent in this movie I expected it to be a lot better

Had low expectations for this remake from the original version; the classic Western staring Yul Brynner, or even Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai". However, this modern adaptation did not disappoint. The cast was fantastic and you'll have little trouble appreciating the stand out roles.

The movie was good but I still prefer the original version over this one.

Surprised to see a remake of this film, but it works. The story is handled in a more modern way making it more accessible to younger generations. This film is as entertaining as the original with another seven gifted actors to root for.

This was a Magnificent reboot to an original movie that have previously come out years ago. Been a fan of the original, and this new one i am quickly becoming a fan of this one too. Over all it is a fun movie to watch, and if your into Western, Cowboy movies, then this one is for you.

This movie is awesome because it displays the unity among men from many walks of life, character of a person, and the integrity of heart felt morals for people. Love this movie because it shows what ppl can accomplish when they put down their walls and unite for a greater purpose.

If you have kids that are over 9, then your family will enjoy this flick. Their is plenty of violence but not a lot of blood and gore. The action was good and will paced. We will be watching this film again soon to see what we missed during our first viewing. Enjoyed the acting also.

Excellent retelling of the Yul Brynner oater, and 7 Samauri tale. Wonderful acting all around, great action, and cinematography. Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt were dead on; and made this fun to watch. Washington and Pratt continue to put out movies worth watching. (Passengers?)

I'm a classic western movie buff. I enjoyed the Seven Samurai and the original Magnificent Seven. This movie has more action and plot twists not found in the original. The new ensemble cast is full of great actors who always deliver great performances. I highly recommend this one!

I liked it, I think it lacked here and there. Overall a decent movie.

The only thing that's classic about this is the original movie score from the 60's. Great cast. Likable heroes and despicable villains. The shootout at the end though had bullets travelling at right angles (to hit everything they did hit) so that broke the illusion of reality for me, but good film, made mostly in Louisiana!

Although I've never seen the original shows thos movie kept us entertained, i'm not a professional critic so I don't get into the technicals of movie criticism. If a movie keeps me entertained enough to make it through it without taking a bathroom break It's a good movie for me.

This movie is a great update on this classic story. the movie moves quickly and the action sequences are great. the charaacters are engaging. Denzel washington stands tall as the organizer of the seven.I recommend this movie for people who loves westerns or great story telling.

I went to Best Buy to get this movie. I was waiting for it to come out. There was only one left. I was so happy to get it. The staff was more than excellent to assist with this purchase. I was very entertained by this remake of the original. I viewed it several times already!

I am a die hard Ray Donovan fan and have all the seasons. Little disappointed that season 4 is only on DVD and not Blu ray but glad I purchased it. I also purchased Magnificent 7 with Denzel Washington and saw this movie at the theater and it was so good I bought the Blu ray.

It was entertaining BUT it droned on and was a bit slow to develop.

Being a remake of a remake you can only expect so much, but Mag Seven delivers on spectacle! If you're looking for more of the popcorn action fare this flick is exactly what you're looking for! If you're looking for a deeper more serious film i'd stick with the original western or the original Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa.

Movie really wasnt that great, but I enjoyed it somewhat!
