Directed by Guy Ritchie, this is exactly what I would expect. If you're a fan of the recent Sherlock Holmes movies then you know what to expect. The first thing that might be surprising is thst this is not a modern take on the original. The story is set in the 60s in the midst of the cold war. As one would expect, it's USSR vs. The U.S. starting out. The overall story is pretty typical and nothing new. The fun here is in the execution. Just as he did with Holmes, the journey is everything. Watching our main characters learning to work together and the banter between them makes what would be a text book cold war story one with watching.

Right off the bat, this movie is unlike the 60's TV show but for the same lead characters and dry wit. The campy atmosphere of the TV show is not here and is replaced with a more serious, somewhat realistic tone. Not that that is bad. This movie was entertaining and engaging in presenting an origin story of the team of Napolean and Illya. I would not hesitate to see future installments if they came to be. If you are a fan of the show, this movie will not disappoint.

Armie Hammer, Henry Cavill, and Alicia Vikander star in the film version of a TV Classic. This is a Guy Ritchie movie and you can definitely recognize the style. This was really good, but not great. I think it was under-appreciated, and I would recommend it to people who like comedic action films.

Ritchie delivers yet again ! What a wonderful time period it was ! Kinda sucks that I was no where near to be found in that era and its time period )) An absolutely great movie and the settings ! Some action, romance and fun [...."20 minutes - can't touch !] :)) Loved it - had to own it ! :) and cannot wait for the part two ! Highly recommend.

I grew up watching The Man From U.N.C.L.E. tv series in the 60's. So, I expected a tongue-in-cheek thriller with the word "Affair" after the initial opening of the movie. Instead, the emphasis seemed to be on fashion rather than the main players, the plot, or even the music! Lots of people still remember the theme which is nowhere in this movie. I hope Guy will do a second U.N.C.L.E. movie giving the characters more latitude and less fashion scenes. The pace of the movie was good ala his Sherlock Holmes movies, but it needed more push. Superman and The Lone Ranger as Napoleon and Illiya were good if they only had better dialogue. I understand this movie was just a start, but I pray that the next movie will be more U.N.C.L.E. than a whimper!

This movie was great. So far I have not been disappointed by a "Guy Ritchie" movie. When I see his name attached to something, I wanna see it. Movie had a great cast, good action scenes, and even had parts that made me laugh. I'm praying that they make another one. Too good not to make a lil franchise out of it.

A complete outsider without knowledge of the original TV Series, but it was a decent watch. I can't say much about that Russian accent coming from Armie Hammer though......It was good enough for a (Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy) = $9.99 purchase.

This is a great movie! There's a great cast & the perfect amount of action & humor to make it a fun movie. I love the way they've included the background music in several scenes as well. Gives that feel of what spy movies used to look like.

This film may have gotten lost during its late summer release, but it turns out to be one of the better spy films released this year. Very strong cast and direction by Guy Ritchie.

I really enjoyed the look and feel of this fast paced film. The acting may be a little over the top, but the action scenes are great and the period look of the film is a treat. Better than most recent Bond movies...

A good and funny take on the Man form U.N.C.L.E series. It's really a prequel to what the TV series was. The stars play off of each other well. A lot of good action.

Fun spy movie with a great 60s feel and a lot more humor than I was expecting, yay! The actors have real chemistry and I'm hoping we'll get to see more of these. The behind the scene extras were interesting, too.

I like that they brought the series to the big screen. Wish they had have done more with the storyline, but it was still a good movie.

I bought this for a great price at Best Buy and had been waiting to see it.. It was an action packed movie, and I thoroughly enjoyed it

Must have for fans of Guy Ritchie but if not then all around great movie! Never seen the original series but watching this movie would make me want to!

I bought it to see henry cavill as a future james bond it will be cool to see him as 007 agent

It was an enjoyable action comedy and it was nice to see Henry Cavill in a different role.

I PURCHASED "THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E." BECAUSE OF THE INCREDIBLE 1960'S COSTUMES AND BECAUSE I AM A HUGE FAN OF ALICIA VIKANDER. SHE WON AN ACADEMY AWARD THIS PAST FEBRUARY FOR HER PERFORMANCE IN "THE DANISH GIRL". I HAVE SEEN ALL OF HER FILMS IN THE THEATRE AND AM NOW COLLECTING THEM ON BLU-RAY.
