I loved this movie. No matter how difficult a situation can be... you can rise above the hardships that comes in your world. Don't quit. That's the message of the movie.

While I am a big fan of "real" science fiction (aliens, ray guns), the recent trend of realistic space movies is very welcome. While a little dry, this avoids getting wiz-bang - though I must admit, the punctured glove thruster in the final capture scene defies my suspension of disbelief. Overall engaging and remains within the bounds of reality.

THE MARTIAN was a very interesting movie, albeit not full of a whole lot of developed characters or exciting action. It asks the question, "What do you do if you're stranded on Mars?" Since the first "Martians" would surely be picked from the cream of the crop of multi-field scientific talent, the implementation of answers to that question are fun to think through.

I had wanted to see in the theater but I enjoyed this film in my home just fine and the blu ray was terrific. I watched it twice now seeing something new each time. Action, suspense, and humor this film made science cooler

I had already seen the movie in the theater and wanted to add it to my library. I enjoy the blueray platform for the visual quality and for the added features. The movie was excellent. The Blueray DVD worked as advertised.

Damen was amazing in this role. The special effects looked realistic. The story line was excellent. It really makes you think...astronauts can go through a lot. It's definitely a required acquisition for any video library.

God speed little taters! We were skeptical about the movie, having ready the book and liking it so much. But this time Hollywood didn't disappoint. Great movie that didn't completely rewrite the book for a change.

We didn't have a chance to see the movie in the theater but based on word of mouth added it to our DVD collection. Beautifully shot with wonderful dialog and a story that kept us wanting more, I couldn't recommend it more.

. . . but don't call it Science Fiction. As an Engineer I definitely appreciated the dedication to a realistic portrayal of a visit to the red planet. I just wish this type of dedication to exploration still existed today.

It was a well thought out movie and was one of the best Matt Damon movies I've seen in a long while. While he's not my favorite actor, he really did a fantastic job on this movie and climbed up my favorite actors list.

This is a great movie but more than that I was entirely blown away by the crispness and clarity of 4K. I have always loves movies dealing with space such as Star Trek, Contact, and seeing it in 4K was simply stunning.

'The Martian' has now won two Golden Globes for: • 'Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy' (which is pushing it, for the category). • 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy' for Matt Damon.

This movie I was hesitant to watch because it didn't interest me, but wow had to purchase this because it won a lot of awards and had a lot of buzz. This movie was very good felt bummed that I didnt see it at the theatre.

Great movie. I really enjoyed it and the quality on the 4k disc was exceptional. I would recommend this one on 4k.

The Martian is excellent. I would recommend it to anyone and actually have several times. This movie has something for everyone, drama, suspense, action, comedy and obviously science fiction. Plus Matt Damon is hilarious.

I bought this before seeing, going just off of the reviews. I was extremely impressed and it's become one of my favorite movies the last few years. Highly recommend as the acting, soundtrack, script, etc is all fantastic.

Love this movie, looks and sounds amazing in 4k and Atmos. Extras are awesome for a space nut!

Bought the extended version on blu ray -- the additional scenes, while not completely necessary to the movie, added more color to the situation Mark Watney was in . . . again, great movie -- great bonus features too!

Excellent story. Not just a sci-fi flick but a very good story as well as acting by the entire cast. The movie has a nice pace and a few moments where you don't know what's going to happen. Kept my attention throughout.

The Martian is a very compelling movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Matt Damon does an excellent job playing a likeable character on a dramatic journey. There's just enough comic relief to lighten it up.
