A great movie that in its way is a retelling of Robinson Crusoe and that lesser known Robinson Crusoe On Mars. Similar themes of survival and isolation that have popped up before, but with excellent story telling and vistas. I just wish the commander had packed more than disco tunes. Added bonus, it's got a great montage set to Starman by David Bowie.

A great movie both in content and visuals. Mars has been one of the most fascinating topics recently because of Elon Musk and SpaceX, which made the movie even more relevant.

Still a really great movie and the 4k HDR is stunning at times. However, the extended cut feels unfinished at times and most scenes feel needlessly extended. Resulting in a film that feels more disjointed than the original cut. There are only a handful of additional/extended scenes that really add anything extra to the film.

I've always enjoyed movies having to do with space exploration and this definitely delivered. It was also surprisingly funny. I did not expect that. Matt Damon turns in a great performance as well

Even though I own the initial version of this film, the exclusive extras on this package plus the additional footage makes it worth every cent. Same great picture and audio as the initial release.

After some "problematic" features, Ridley Scott is officially back on his A-Game with The Martian. Everyone involved is giving great performances bringing this clever and exciting tale to the screen.

Matt Damon is great and while the movie largely focuses on him being along it certainly doesn't shy away from comedic moments. If you enjoy movies about surviving and space you will not be disappointed.

Better than Gravity and Interstellar, Matt Damon gives a great performance as the only person on Mars. The story moves well and the effects are great. The cast does the absolute best and it shows.

Could not decide whether it was a comedy since Matt Damon was always saying those funny lines or a tragedy since he was left stranded in Mars. But in the end hurrah for the Chinese coming to the rescue.

The movie is very believeable. The special effects just reinforced the facts that not to far in the future man will have a site on Mars. Matt Damion was the right choice for the lead role in this movie.

I have watched this movie over and over it never gets old. What makes it even better would be the clarity you get with the Blu Ray quality especially if you are watching it on an hd led tv. Great movie

Excellent movie, if you like science & problem solving. It was also great to watch in 3D: the definitiion, particularly in the space scenes, was exceptional. Get this in 3D!

Although this movie was lauded as a comedy, it really had me on the edge of my seat with every twist and turn in the tale. Damon was great, but the real science behind everything was even more awesome.

The digital movie transfers over to linked accounts--some movies don't. Good movie though sometimes direction is odd along with some comedic bits by supporting players that don't work.

Wasn't sure if I would really like this movie from the little bit I saw on commercials. Reviews I saw were good, so we thought we would try it. I ended up loving the movie and will watch it many times.

A movie I know I will watch many times. It was well made and kept my interest every second. It was unpredictable, humorous as well as a drama, and very believable. I highly recommend the movie.

My wife and I really enjoyed this movie. great story and Matt Damon did good job and since getting my first home theater and 4k this was a great addition. Too bad it doesn't have dolby atmos.

Saw it in the theater and had to have my own copy. It's definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it. It came with a digital copy, too, so I can even enjoy it on-the-go. Two thumbs up from this guy.

So originally, I didn't even want to SEE this movie. I now know why everybody was talking about it, and I SINCERELY doubt that they saw what I saw in beautiful fantastic 4K!! Felt like I was ON Mars!!

It was well laid out, the survival tactics used mixed with a little comedy. The efforts to rescue him was well done and mixing in the Chinese Space program was a good ideal. Movie is well worth seeing.
