It's worth watching but even though it emulates a more realistic mission(s) to Mars it has been done before with movies like Red Planet, Mission to Mars, Castaway, and a classic Robinson Crusoe on Mars.

After all the praise I read about this movie online, I expected a little bit more. I guess I didn't know it was purely a survival type movie, almost similar to Castaway. Well done, nonetheless.

I like the acting, the plot, and the overall action of this movie and it is almost believable.

The Martian is one of the best films of 2015. The blu ray quality is a wonderful way to enjoy it.
