The Martian tells a grand tell of a stranded explorer who must use limited resources and vast knowledge to not only survive the turmoil of the foreign planet Mars, but plan his way to make it home. Hands down one if Scott's best films in a long time shines with witt and also finds a way to be remarkably funny throughout. Dazzling performances and Damon's charisma helps ground the science fiction to something that's quite believable. It's a beautiful film to behold with stunning shots and the best special and visual effects since Interstellar. Without a doubt not only one of Ridley's best films, but one of the best science fiction films to date that feels like... imagine if Apollo 13 was directed by David Fincher with the innovation of 2001: A Space Odyssey. I looked and observed this film meticulously.. and struggle to find a bad thing to say about this movie. I love this, it's worth every penny to own on Steelbook.
