Not that the movies are on the same level, but you can compare Matt Damon's performance in Martian to Tom Hank's in Cast Away. Damon got a lot of alone scene screen time and did a great job. Extremely entertaining and very suspenseful as well.

This one puts the science in the science fiction story. It's a good story, and its well acted. I recommend it to all my friends
