A well done production on a what if experience. How would you deal with an almost impossible, life threatening problem? Very engaging script and production.Enjoyed it all the way through until the suspenseful ending.

I was actually skeptical of this movie, but my wife wanted to see it. I like how it was actually kind of realistic for something that could happen in the next 20 years. It was a good mix of action and suspense. I have recommend this movie to others already.

Couldn't believe such a great book could be done on the big screen, but a great script, directing team and Matt Damon managed to pull it off in style. Not as great as the book, but exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended, especially if you're a fan of the genre.

We first started watching i thought it was going to be slow, after a while you were thinking it was you in the situation and trying to figure out how to survive. then going through the days until someone comes to pick you up on mars. You can feel the pain he is going through.

One of the year's best films, with amazing vistas, in an equally amazing presentation format. I watched it on my Sony 65x900a in 3D and it is as impressive in the home as it is in the theater. If people experience passive 3d, in the home its easy to convert them to 3d junkies.

This was the first 4K HD movie we watched after upgrading our system. Very impressed we love this movie. Read the book, loved it. The movie does a pretty good adaptation. Would recommend reading the book and then watching the movie. Great scenery shots for 4K resolution.

It's not surprising that this movie has won some awards during the "Awards season", it was very entertaining and Matt Damon does a wonderful job. I don't know as if I would go as far as say its a comedy as some of the awards shows have sold it, but entertaining none the least.

THIS WAS A VERY SUSPENSE FULL MOVIE....IT HAD ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT. ALSO HAD A SOME GREAT SCIENCE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO IT, THAT WILL MAKE YOU THINK. I FEEL THIS IS A MUST SEE MOVIE....ESPECIALLY WITH THE TALK OF SENDING PEOPLE TO MARS, IN THE NOT TOO DISTANCE FUTURE..

Never seen the extended edition before. It adds a few more scenes that give the rest of the movie a little more context. I enjoyed it more than the original which i liked quite a bit as is.

Initially I rented this movie, wasn't sure how captivating it would be... man stuck alone on mars... after renting, I purchased it. I will watch this movie again, and shared it with a few others. Not what I expected to see, better. Detail and probability of realism is there.

What a fantastic movie! The cinematography is very well done. I was entranced throughout the entire movie. The packaging is typical of today's blu ray releases. Special features seemed lacking, but still worth the buy. This is one movie you should definitely own in blu ray!

Showed it to my friends in all it's HDR glory, looks amazing! The reds of the planet and the detail on the suits, o my god! To people that say 4k Netflix is ok, with all the compression they use its just a little better than 1080p, but a reak 4k disc will blow you away!

I love this movie. I was worried before watching that it might be boring, having only one actor for the major portions of the movie. But the story was intriguing--the science believable and realistic--and Matt Damon does a great job keeping the audience entertained.

This was one of the best movies that I have ever seen. Matt Damon has done a lot of successful films and the Martian is definitely on that list. Definitely a must watch, especially for anyone at least remotely interested in space. I definitely recommend watching this movie.

This was in my opinion a great movie. Believable characters showing the same spirit all of the real astronauts from NASA have always shown America and the world. Based in real science, so good for the realistic idea of this actually being possible in our future Space Program.

From the same director that brought us Aliens and The Man In The High Castle this movie will have you wondering how is he going to pull this off. This movie does a great job of making you feel as if you are on the planet Mars. Definitely one to have in your collection.

My friend bought this movie which we saw a while ago at the movie theater. Matt Damon's performance is inspiring and hilarious. Definitely not a movie to miss. It's something that can be rewatched many times and is still just as enjoyable as the first time you've seen it :)

This movie is really funny and has great senses of humor in it. Matt Damon really does a great performance and is an essential if you like anything to do with space. The movie blows the Sandra Bullock movie away that i can't even remember the name of.

If you've seen the trailers, you know the premise. Matt Damon is an astronaut and is accidentally left on Mars and thought to be dead. Now he needs to learn how to survive while the world watches and waits. A great movie. I haven't read the book yet, but now I plan to do so.
