Beautiful cinematography and a different (more positive) sci-fi story makes this a great movie ... I appreciate the focus on survival rather than dwelling on death and destruction, which is fairly typical of the science fiction genre.

Entertaining and educational at the same time. The picture is fantastic and the audio matches. More movies need to provide this .

You might not guess by looking at it, but The Martian is one of the funniest and most endearing sci-fi films in recent years. The special features on this edition of the film are thorough and well done.

Favorite quote in the movie: Mark Watney after realizing he's stuck in Mars alone with limited resources... "In the face of overwhelming odds, I'm left with only one option, I'm gonna have to science the sh$& out of this."

I didn't want to see the movie until I finished the book. By the time I finished the book the movie was no longer in the theaters so when it came out on DVD I had to get it and I was not disappointed. Best movie I have seen this year.

One of the Top-10 best movies of 2015. Matt Damon did a wonderful job. The supporting cast was assume too. What a great story and the book is even better. So much better then Star Wars the Force Awakens the biggest seller of the year.

Love this movie, looks and sounds amazing in 4k and Atmos. Extras are awesome for a space nut!

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie...I wasn't sure if it was something I would like...I did like it...perfect picture and sound that enveloped you at the right times

When I first watched this movie in theaters, I had mixed feelings. I purchased this because it was on sale during Black Friday. I am happy to say that my family thoroughly enjoyed watching it again in the comfort of our home.

I already had this movie on blu ray, but it was not the extended cut. So I bought it again. The movie is a lot of fun and looks great! I would highly recommend The Martian to any one looking for a fun sci fi adventure movie.

The Martian is a great movie. Suspenseful, some humor, the dangers of space travel. A realistic story of an astronaut fighting for survival on an alien planet. We saw this at the movie theater before purchase. We highly recommend it!

Great story and entertaining. The story line was creative and encorages us to think and believe in the impossible for most. Yet survival is survival and we engineer thoughts to motivate and stimulate our survival and existance.

Another great 4K release. The Martian was one of my favorite films of the year when it came out. It is a welcome return to form for directory Ridley Scott. Fun, tense and a lot of heart. The 4k looks great as well

Anything with space fascinates me. I think this is a very possible and accurate movie on where were headed as a species some day. To see our challenges and what we must try to overcome is always worth watching!!

Saw this in theatres and had to buy it on blu-ray. Loved everything about it! I am a big sci-fi fan and it really does touch on the dangers of space travel and overcoming adversity. Watched with my family, and they all loved it too!

I've read the book and the movie is really faithful to it. It's an excellent story and incredible performance by all involved. Great source material as well. A feel good movie with a lot of science to back it up. Highly recommend it!

I recommend seeing this movie. It is a good one.of course it's a space, science movie and you have to like that going into this one. If you don't, you will think it's one the many space or science or sci fi movies. It's a good movie.

If you like Sci-fi movies or even Matt Damon, then I highly recommend you check this movie out. I have been told it varies from the book, but was still very enjoyable to fans of the book. So go rent it or buy it and see if you agree.

Even better 4K!! This and Deadpool are the highest quality/most beatiful picture/most detailed 4K movie I've ever seen/own! When you buy this you get an amazing movie with visuals that match the qualitu of the film!!!

As soon as the trailer came out I knew this would be a great movie. The astronaut Mark Watney was extremely likable and relatable. And nothing in the movie was too far fetched. All the characters felt real and cared for one another.
