Being a sci-fi nut I was hooked from the opening credits to the closing credits. There was not much in the way action but that didn't detract from the great acting and directing behind the movie. It moved along rather well.

I love this movie and owned it on blu Ray HD. I bought the Samsung 65" 8000 4K set with HDR and bought this at the same time. The visuals in this are amazing. Best movie to show off 4K and can be watched over and over.

Great movie that is definitely worth owning. Haven’t tried out the 4k version yet but I like to future proof my movie purchases.

Really enjoyed this movie watching one man use all his resources to save himself. Maybe at times a little unbelievable, buy hey, it's just a movie, albeit a really good movie to whisk yourself off to another planet.

Matt Damon definitely does a great job portraying the abandon space astronaut on Mars. It is definitely one of my favorite sci-fi movies yet because of the storyline and because of all the great actors in the movie.

THE MARTIAN was a very interesting movie, albeit not full of a whole lot of developed characters or exciting action. It asks the question, "What do you do if you're stranded on Mars?" Since the first "Martians" would surely be picked from the cream of the crop of multi-field scientific talent, the implementation of answers to that question are fun to think through.

This movie was so unexpectedly good I can't even explain. It keeps your attention the whole movie. Even my teenage daughter who has the attention span of well a teenager, sat through the whole movie and enjoyed it as well!

Loved this movie from start to finish. Have always been a sci first fan. This was just a great story with unexpected humor . Which made it great. Visually wonderful cast was perfect. A great movie to add to your collection!

This movie in 4K is the best way to watch it. The story and the experience of watching this film is great! Still holds up to this day.

Extended Edition has a few nice touches, but holds to the spirit of the movie. I had hoped for a bit more from the book, but was still pleased nevertheless.

God speed little taters! We were skeptical about the movie, having ready the book and liking it so much. But this time Hollywood didn't disappoint. Great movie that didn't completely rewrite the book for a change.

First time watching this. Watching in 4K made it all the better. Great performances from all involved. Picture and sound are terrific

I had wanted to see in the theater but I enjoyed this film in my home just fine and the blu ray was terrific. I watched it twice now seeing something new each time. Action, suspense, and humor this film made science cooler

I had already seen the movie in the theater and wanted to add it to my library. I enjoy the blueray platform for the visual quality and for the added features. The movie was excellent. The Blueray DVD worked as advertised.

Damen was amazing in this role. The special effects looked realistic. The story line was excellent. It really makes you think...astronauts can go through a lot. It's definitely a required acquisition for any video library.

This is a great movie but more than that I was entirely blown away by the crispness and clarity of 4K. I have always loves movies dealing with space such as Star Trek, Contact, and seeing it in 4K was simply stunning.

It was a well thought out movie and was one of the best Matt Damon movies I've seen in a long while. While he's not my favorite actor, he really did a fantastic job on this movie and climbed up my favorite actors list.

We didn't have a chance to see the movie in the theater but based on word of mouth added it to our DVD collection. Beautifully shot with wonderful dialog and a story that kept us wanting more, I couldn't recommend it more.

. . . but don't call it Science Fiction. As an Engineer I definitely appreciated the dedication to a realistic portrayal of a visit to the red planet. I just wish this type of dedication to exploration still existed today.

This movie I was hesitant to watch because it didn't interest me, but wow had to purchase this because it won a lot of awards and had a lot of buzz. This movie was very good felt bummed that I didnt see it at the theatre.
