I was going to buy this movie for my brother but I've kept it for myself and enjoy the science with the science fiction. I will need to buy this movie for my brother some other time.

After being hesitant to buy such a film, I bought it. It sat on a shelf for a week before I decided to watch it. But once I did, wow. Matt Damon and the cast gave a really good performance.

I enjoyed this movie a lot. The games your mind must play being stranded on Mars alone would be terrifying. This movie plays on that a bit. Sorta reminded me of both castaway and Apollo 13.

While very thrilling, this film has it's funny moments as well. Funny enough, this film won Golden Globes for Best Film and Best Actor (Damon) in the Best Comedy or Musical category.

Excellent movie with outstanding performances! The story keeps you interested in the movie from beginning to end & the cast does an excellent job of making you interested in the characters.

Not sure how many times my family has watched this but we are still intrigued each time. Yes, you know how it's going to turn out, but fun along the way...And great music!

The Martian is a very captivating sci-fi movie, and Matt Damon does a great job with his character. The special effects were well done, but the story line was definitely attention-grabbing.

Very realistic/plausible movie, except one part at the end (you'll know it when you see it). Very much like the book except several events were dropped due to the time constraints I'm sure.

The US govt has spent an absorbent amount of money trying to save Matt Damon from Space Disasters. A total epic.

Anytime Ridley Scott directs a movie I must see it. If it's a science fiction movie I get especially excited as I'm sure most people do. The Martian, however, is my least favorite Ridley Scott Sci-Fi movie to date. It's not a bad movie by any means and it's better than most of the rubbish Hollywood churns out these days. My biggest qualm is that I feel Matt Damon's character isn't very sympathetic. Yes, he is stranded on Mars by himself, but he is a brilliant scientist who is conveniently multi-disciplined in all the fields of science that he needs to survive. In addition he is able to communicate with NASA while he is stranded so he is not really alone. And the ending feels a little outlandish and even cartoonish. I do recommend this movie for the perfect special effects, the realistic dialogue, and the accuracy of the science. The special features on the Blu-ray are completely uninteresting and disappointing.

Story was captivating and well told. Matt Damon was as good as ever and the movie had really funny moments as well. Steelbook packaging is gorgeous and worth the extra $$.

Got a new 4K tv and had to upgrade this movie to 4K!! Looks awesome! One of my favorite movies and looks great in hdr. $14.99 on Black Friday! Totally worth the double dip.

“The Martian” finds Scott and his team innovating once again, this time moving in the direction of the plausible to present the most realistic version possible of a manned mission to Mars.

Recently purchased Samsung 4k Bluray player to complement my Samsung 4K TV. Har to upgrade my favorite movie to 4K. Stunning picture. Mars never looked so good.

Astronauts go to Mars. When they unexpectedly have to evacuate the planet, one astronaut gets left behind. They believe that he's dead but he's very much alive and struggles for survival.

Thank you for stocking the good movies. I almost always find what I am looking for in premium movies. Only on a few occasions have you been sold out of what I want during sales promotions.

fantastic story; could not believe how well it developed with primarily only the one main actor. Word of mouth made me want to see why it went from a "ordinary" film to an Oscar contender.

Unusually and entertaining story of perseverence and survival. Entertaining film.

Guy gets left on mars to die. Defies the people that left him behind and grew some potatoes in a make shift green house. This may or may not be able to actually happen. I am going with no.

I bought this for the 3D disk and it was pretty good but not one of my better 3D effect films. But the film itself was excellent of course and worthy of the best picture nomination it has.
